Chapter 790

Superior Gesture

Angela was a smart girl. Many times, she could notice something was wrong even at a glance.

Martha was most afraid that her daughter was so clever that she was nearly immune to lies. She could
only pretend to be calm and said, “Fixing up is always needed. I don‘t like the layout of our old house.
We need to change the layout again. After finishing the decoration, the house needs some time for
ventilation. It will take at least a few months. So, we must live here for a while.”

Angela frowned as she heard that. “Our house was just finished not long ago. And you are totally
satisfied with your own design style. Why do you want to fix it again?”

She stared at Martha and always felt that she was telling a lie.

Martha replied calmly, “It‘s because of your father‘s assistant. The decoration team we found was
cheating us, using all those poor materials. Although we‘ve just finished the decoration not long ago,
the walls were already cracking.”

Angela was still suspicious of her words.

But now she couldn‘t find any loopholes. She just couldn‘t figure out why they had to stay in such a
place for now.

After a pause, she resumed, “Even if we have to live in another house, we can live in a nicer place.
How can we live in such a small house then?”

Martha took a deep breath. It‘s not what I want. I have no choice. But we have no money! Gloria has
cheated us out of all of our money! That tramp!

Martha did not dare to tell her daughter all this.



Angela opened her mouth as if she still wanted to add something, but suddenly the phone rang,
interrupting her thoughts.

Seeing that it was still the call with virtual numbers again, she was quite excited. “That person called
me back. She must have done something to Gloria.”

Martha sighed with relief. Fortunately, the call diverted Angela‘s attention.

“Hello.”

Angela picked up the phone, and the person‘s voice echoed in the receiver.

“Tomorrow, Jordy and Gloria will go out to investigate the site in the Nossel Scenic Area. And there is
exactly some turmoil there.”

Angela frowned and her excitement was dispelled. She thought she was about to hear some good
news, but it turned out to be unimportant news. She asked, “Do you mean that you will start against her
tomorrow?”

“Yes.”

Angela was a little disappointed, but she had no choice but to listen to that person. She felt that the
person was about to hang up the phone, so she quickly added, “Can you give me your contact? You
can always get in touch with me, but I can‘t call you at all since I don‘t have your number.”

“You don‘t need to contact me. I will contact you if there is anything I want to tell you.” The person
sounded like a lovely girl on the phone, but her voice was cold and people might not feel that she was a
nice girl.



Angela didn‘t want to give up and continued, “It‘s alright. But I have ideas to share with you as well. I
hate Gloria to the guts, you know. If I really have a good idea and I can‘t contact you and do nothing, it
would be a pity to miss the best opportunity to retaliate against her.”

The person on the phone paused for a while before saying, “I‘ll send my contact to your mobile phone
later.”

Angela was relieved and said, “Okay, how are you going to deal with Gloria tomorrow?”

“I‘ll see tomorrow.”

After saying that, she immediately hung up the phone, and Angela was totally stunned by the snap shut
of the line. “What a boast! She still refuses to reveal her true identity and tell me the truth!”

“But you think she is a powerful woman who can help you.” Martha did not hesitate to satirize her.

Angela bit her lip and retorted gloomily, “I was right. She is powerful. If she wasn‘t powerful, how could I
leave the hospital so quickly? But I just don‘t fancy her superior gesture.”
