I Don’t Need a Man

Seeing that Gloria opened her eyes, Nydia said with a smile, “Right on time. I knew you’d wake up now.
Sweetie, have this soup and replenish your energy.”

Gloria got out of the blanket, which made Nydia anxious. “Easy, I’ll help you to get up. You’re a patient
and should take care.”

She didn’t know what to say.

Nydia then saw her siting up like a healthy person.

“Are you pretending that you’re injured?” Nydia sized her up.

Gloria was amused and laughed, “Nope.”

Nydia let out a sigh. “You’re a tough lady. You should be softer.”

As soon as her voice died away, Jordy came back. Since the door to the bedroom was locked, neither
the light movement outside.

Gloria nor Nydia.

He stopped in his tracks and stood still.

Gloria smiled, “Whether I’m soft or not, you care about me, so why bother?”

“But I’m a woman. You should show that side to men!” Nydia sounded helpless. This lady lying on the
bed was ignorant in that aspect.

Gloria just snorted, “What’s the point? I don’t even need a man.”



“Ugh… I know that you’re disappointed in men, but you’re only 26. There is a long life ahead. You
shouldn’t be so pessimistic.”

Gloria chuckled at the chattering girl who always thought for her good. “You once told me that you’d
rather stay single and adopt a child with me. What is happening now?”

“You’re teasing me again. I’m serious. Gloria, you don’t have to be alone. If you don’t like Bryson, you
can see another guy.”

Gloria was not convinced at all, and she felt helpless. “Never mind, can’t argue with a patient. Come
on, have the soup. I asked the doctor for the formula. It will help you recover sooner.”

Gloria smiled, “Okay.”

Jordy stood alone in the living room. His face clouded over once again.

He heard what Gloria had just said.

“I don’t even need a man.”

That was true. Given her capacity, she indeed didn’t need men to do anything for her.

Even if she needed a man, she could find one who cherished and treasured her. A temperamental man
like him would never be considered by her.

He snorted and went to his bedroom.

It was getting late. Nydia sighed, “Jordy is inflexible, and there are no other rooms available in this
hotel. Otherwise, I’d stay with you and watch you.”

“Everything is fine, relax.”



“I’m worried you’ll have a fever at night.” Nydia couldn’t rest her mind at ease, “Given Jordy’s
personality, there is no way he’ll let me stay.”

Gloria smiled, “Don’t worry, I’m fine. Besides, I’ll be safer when Jordy is around. Those people will be
held at bay. If he is gone, they will be tempted to make a move.
