Enveloped in the grassy scent from the man next to her, Gu Shishi frowned and pondered.
She had never received any sort of hints from the system about the danger lurking. Her speculation had always been that it had to do with Huo Sishen’s long-term psychological issue.
Now that he was healthy both physically and psychologically, what was left to worry about was the pushback from those whose profits were harmed when they were backed into a corner!
Gu Shishi made up her mind secretly. On their way back home, she texted Huo ChuChu and had her keep an eye out on Huo Wencheng and Mother Hou and had Huo ChuChu notify her if she spotted anything out of the ordinary.
[Huo ChuChu: Yes, ma’am!]
Her spy had accepted the mission graciously.

Sure enough, that very night, Huo Wencheng called up his mother......
Mother Huo thought perhaps he had finally changed his mind or that he was calling to negotiate with her. Lo and behold, he asked her an abrupt question.
“Mom, do you know what Big Brother had been up to these last few years?”
Mother Huo was taken aback a little.
Of course she didn’t.
That was the child that she had abandoned, never cared about, and spent majority of her life trying to forget.
As such, why would she voluntarily make an effort to find out what he had been up to? That would only bring about pain for herself.
Her younger son rarely ever brought up his big brother.
When he brought him up abruptly, it instantly jotted her memory of how the two of them had played together as kids.
She immediately felt an almost unbearable pain in her heart.
Mother Huo closed her eyes tiredly.
“All I know is that he is about to be a father.
“When are you coming home, Wencheng?”
Huo Wencheng was taken aback a little. He clenched his fists in pain and said, “Just give me a little bit more time… … please.”
His original stubbornness was almost all gone.
He had always thought that he was, undoubtedly, the heir of the Huo’s fortune. But now, a big doubt had been casted.
Had his mother found out about this big brother’s achievement, would she regret about her decision? Would she still hand the Huo empire down to him instead of his brother?
He had been the only reliable son of this family in the past but things seemed to have changed!
Even if his mother was to stand by her own decision, she could still back his sister, whom their big brother had always doted on since she was a child. That way, for certain the Huo family would have their big brother’s full backing. They would have connection far greater than what an alliance marriage could bring overnight.
In comparison, he had become the most worthless one in the house now… … Even though he assisted Wushuang in gaining power over the Gu Corporation, the Gu Corporation, after the last fiasco, was already on its last leg.
Would his mother, who always had the big picture in mind, still choose him as the heir?
Huo Wencheng hung up the phone and never returned to the bedroom that night.
What was more bizarre was that Gu Wushuang was equally quiet that night and never urged him to return to the bedroom like she normally would.

When others were having headaches and being jealous, Gu Shishi was happily planning and organizing the next round of prenatal education for her baby.
She would take turns with the boss. One of them would be responsible for the edification of the child in painting and the other, music, chess, and hide and seek to top.
Ever since the baby started to move inside of Gu Shishi’s belly, Huo Sishen had fallen in love with playing hide and seek with the baby.
He would place his hand on Gu Shishi’s tummy and the baby would sometimes there would be movement where he had placed his hand and sometimes not. And, occasionally, when the baby was in a particular good mood, there would be movement elsewhere.
Huo Sishen could do it multiple times and day and seemingly never got tired of it.
When the prenatal education time was almost up, Gu Shishi cleaned up her painting supplies, keeping on the paintings that showed improvement for future comparison and tossed away the bad ones.
As usual, she was going to transcribe some poems before crawling into bed but, tonight, she received a stealth call from Huo ChuChu before she was done.
