“My second brother moved back home yesterday. My mom was still mad at him and hasn’t talked to him yet.”
Huo ChuChu snickered.
“Just as I have told her. If she gives me any shares, Second Brother will come running home faster than a rabbit.
“Other than those, he didn’t care about any one of us.”
Gu Shishi finished organizing the clothes and wiped her son who was making bubbles while sleeping and felt that the whole thing made a lot of sense.
“Then your mom has succeeded again.”
As truth would tell, Huo Wencheng was no match for his mother. He had finally given in.
Huo ChuChu’s look was odd. “My mother started taking melatonin lately.”.....
Melatonin is something used to help with jet lag or insomnia.
“I saw her took two yesterday.
“She didn’t look all that energetic after my brother’s return.”
Huo ChuChu shook her head and her face dropped as well.
“My mother had been such a prideful person in the past. I guess she had finally realized that she was a failure in terms of being a mother. My brother did not return because of his sister, his mother, or that there are only women in this household; he returned immediately when the shares are being divvied up.
“She was gravely disappointed in my second brother and said to my grandmother that she had no more hopes for my second brother.”
Gu Shishi felt that it wasn’t her place to opine.
What was the point of it all anyway?
“Aye, my grandma isn’t very happy either. She told my mom that my brother is being very irresponsible. She would not be counting on him to take care of her when she gets old. If there is Gu Wushuang today, there will be Chen Wushuang tomorrow. He’s hopeless!”
Huo ChuChu stretched her hands out. She, too, had approached the crib to play with the baby.

Gu Shishi handed her a wet towelette helplessly.
“They said they were going to give them to me. I didn’t care that much. Your brother was the one who dealt with them.”
She didn’t ask them for it but she wasn’t going to turn them down when they offered either.
The original owner had the rights to these.
Huo ChuChu cracked her mouth open immediately. “Gu Wushuang had been too greedy. She deserved the betrayal of her family! That being said, I am thinking that part of the reason of Gu Jiangxin giving you stocks was hoping that you would take on Gu Wushuang to some extent. “
Gu Shishi chuckled when she heard that.
She pulled out her cellphone and took a look.
“I almost had post-partem blues recently. She certainly helped a lot in keeping me entertained.”
Having her HR making her all sorts of offers every day; telling her how much they appreciated her painting skills; having her list out her asks and promising to fulfill them all… … They certainly did wonders to her confidence!
“Mmm, I’ll send her a big gift when I get home today!”
Gu Shishi grinned, tapped on her cellphone, and sent her resume over to that poor HR person.
“I certainly hope that Gu Wushuang would be happy when she sees my resume.”

Gu Shishi happily packed up after sending her resume over to HR.
Huo ChuChu played with the baby with a smile on her as though she was teasing a kitty.
As she was very outgoing and had been rowdy with the little bun, there was never a dull moment inside the room.
In the hallway outside, two men were chatting next to the window and their voice were drowned out completely.
“Everything came back normal on her routine checking?”
Huo Sishen, his arms crossed in front of him, asked Qin Ruhai standing across from him.
“Tell me if there is anything that I need to be aware of. I can convince her to stay longer.”
Qin Ruhai, who had been summoned over to the post-natal center early in the morning, was baffled.
“Haven’t I sent you all the reports electronically to your phone already?
“All readings were within the normal range.”
He thought about it some more and gave an eerie smile. “Kek, are you eager to have a second already?
“Don’t worry. She’s ready as soon as the lactation period is over.”
This emotionless man was now a slave to his family through and through.
