Due to everything that had happened the night before, it was already 11 am when Song Qingchun woke up.
Initially, Song Qingchun was still at a loss. She prepared to stretch like she usually did when she realized she was in Su Zhinian's bedroom. She raised her head in alarm, and Su Zhinian's breath-taking features were revealed before her eyes.
He looked much better than the night before. Even though his face was still pale, it was livelier than the previous day. At least, he was sleeping and not fainted. His breathing was even, and there was even a hint of a smile on his lips.
It was not often for Song Qingchun to be so close to Su Zhinian. In her memory, there were only three times this had happened before, and the first two times were thanks to alcohol. At the time, her whole focus had been on trying to escape, so she had not had the luxury of time to study his face, much less as closely as she was able to that morning. Even from such a close distance, she was unable to find any blemishes on his face; his skin was so smooth that it was like he had been born without pores.

Song Qingchun used the least amount of force that she could to lift Su Zhinian's arm off her waist. Then, she climbed out of the bed, picked up her slippers on the floor, and slunk out of his bedroom.
Song Qingchun warmed herself in the bath after she returned to her bedroom and changed into a clean set of clothes. After exiting the bathroom, she realized her phone had been left in Su Zhinian's bedroom.
After drying her hair, Song Qingchun returned to Su Zhinian's bedroom door and pushed it open as lightly as she could. She poked her head in and was shocked to realize Su Zhinian was already awake. He was leaning against the headboard with a blank expression on his face, staring at the clock on the wall.
Song Qingchun subconsciously tried to pull her head out, but Su Zhinian had already turned his head around and caught her eyes.
Song Qingchun had no choice but to greet Su Zhinian. "Mr. Su, you're awake?"
Su Zhinian nodded wordlessly.
"My phone was left in your bedroom," Song Qingchun explained as she pointed at the pillow next to Su Zhinian.
Su Zhinian did not respond but stared unblinkingly at her, as if asking her wordlessly, Why would your phone be left in my bed?
Song Qingchun was suddenly reminded of the fact she fell asleep using his arm as a pillow, and a faint blush rose to her face.
Thankfully, he was out of it for the whole of last night…
She searched her mind for a random excuse and explained, "I was in your room to fix your IV drip last night. I must have left it here before I returned to my bedroom."
Su Zhinian stared quietly at her as if trying to make out whether she was lying or not. After a long time, he let out a "hmm" and used his chin to point at her phone, signaling for her to get it.
Song Qingchun sighed in relief under her breath and raced to his bedside. When she reached out to grab her phone, her gaze landed on a long hair underneath Su Zhinian's arm.
