Su Zhinian then grabbed a few of Song Qingchun's favorite shrimps and placed them in the bowl. He was rolling up his sleeves and ready to help her with the shrimp shells when he noticed she was still holding the spoon in her hand and hadn't had a bite of anything. He thus turned to address her and said firmly, "Miss Cheng is good at her job; if she's there, I don't need to be. She'll handle everything."

Song Qingchun knew he wasn't looking at her, but she still lowered her head from shame. She stared at the bowl of deshelled shrimps in front of her, bit on her lips, gripped her chopsticks tightly, and she uttered in a soft voice, "I'm so sorry."
Su Zhinian suddenly stopped moving.
He didn't turn to look at her while her soft, whispering tone continued to drift into his ears. "I'm really sorry for what I did tonight; I hope I haven't caused you too much trouble."
