In the hospital
In the ward, sitting next to Chen Kaiming, Chen Qian held a bowl of steaming porridge. She cooled a spoon of porridge carefully to feed Chen Kaiming.
Instead of being vigorous as before, Chen Kaiming now was weak like an old man with his mouth trembling slightly.
Chen Qian worried about him and said, “Dad, take care of yourself. I’ll deal with the things in the company well.”
“Ahem.” Perhaps Chen Kaiming was choked by the porridge or he was too agitated, he coughed violently.
Li Qinglan quickly stood up and walked beside Chen Kaiming to massage his chest and motioned Chen Qian with a bit of grievance, “Hey. Don’t mention it. Your father just woke up. Don’t irritate him.”
The atmosphere in the ward was oppressive, making Chen Qian a little breathless.
When she was about to go out, there was a tap-tap sound from outside.
The people in the ward all turned to look at the doorway. Through the transparent glass window, they could see that the woman was Li Yunhong.
Li Qinglan turned unhappy. She stood up quickly and satirized Li Yunhong, “Hey. Isn’t it the old lady of Mo’s family? How could you come to the hospital? I am really flattered.”
Being a little embarrassed, Li Yunhong smiled awkwardly and walked in with some tonics.
She put things on the bedside and said slowly, “Kaiming, I heard that you woke up, so I would like to visit you.”
Glancing at Li Yunhong, Chen Kaiming snorted, and then he looked away.
“Ms. Li, thanks for that. But I don’t think our family can enjoy such a good treatment. You’d better leave here with your tonics early. Otherwise, we don’t know what your son would do to us.” Li Qinglan took up the tonics and handed them to Li Yunhong.
Seeing Li Yunhong’s embarrassed and perplexed expression, Chen Qian eased the atmosphere quickly.
“Hey. Aunt. Please sit down. Thank you for visiting my dad. The doctor said that it doesn’t matter. After a period of recuperation, my dad could leave the hospital.”
“Even though your dad could recuperate, he is unable to bear stimulus from others. Just a contract matter could disturb our family.” Li Qinglan rolled her eyes and said angrily.
Seeing Li Yunhong’s awkward expression, and considering the friendship of Chen’s family and Mo’s family for many years, Chen Kaiming pulled Li Qinglan’s clothes quietly to motion for her to stop talking.
It was difficult for Li Qinglan to control her temper. Chen Kaiming still worried although Mo’s family could not pose any threat to Chen’s family anymore.
“I’m sorry. I’m here today to tell you something about the contract.”
With a polite smile on her face, Li Yunhong acted constrainedly.
“I talked with Yichen this morning. From tomorrow, the contract between us will still take effect. Since Yichen is young, sometimes he is inconsiderate. I hope that you can understand that and forgive him. Today I come here to apologize to you all.”
When Chen Qian heard that, she went forward quickly to reconfirm Li Yunhong’s words, “Is it true? Is Yichen really willing to sign a contract again?”
“Yes. You can rest assured. Yichen was just a little impulsive.”
Being very excited, Li Qinglan was slightly apologetic about her overreaction. So, she replied quickly.
“Oh. I am so sorry for what I said. Ms. Li, please don’t mind.”
“Yes, my wife is not sensible. Please don’t be angry if she said something wrong.”
Chen Kaiming who was lying on the bed finally spoke. And he became relaxed and grateful to Li Yunhong.
“It doesn’t matter. It’s a misunderstanding. Don’t break our friendship over the years because of this matter.”
Li Yunhong waved her hands and the atmosphere between them became harmonious as before.
Li Yunhong and Li Qinglan pretended to be friendly again. Chen Qian also felt relaxed in her heart. Fortunately, Chen’s company was saved.
Chen Qian thought, “It seems that Mo Yichen didn’t intend to expose me to mortal danger. It’s just a warning.”
So, she was full of hope again.
“I am going out to buy lunch for you. Aunt, would you like to stay here and eat with us?”
Chen Qian greeted Li Yunhong heartily. It could be seen that Chen Qian was in a very good mood.
“Well, you shall go.” Li Qinglan urged Chen Qian.
She took Li Yunhong’s hands as if they were close friends.
“Oh. I heard that Yichen fell in love with someone else.”
Li Qinglan asked and thought, “Recently, I have always heard Chen Qian mentioned that girl. Maybe, it is a good opportunity now to settle the marriage of Chen Qian and Mo Yichen.”
“Well.”
Li Yunhong didn’t know what to say.
“I also feel very distressed. I don’t know why Mo Yichen was infatuated with Gu Yan completely. I can’t put up with it anymore. He had never cared about me like that.”
“Well. I’m just curious. The children could handle their own things well. However, I have heard that the girl had a bad manner, so I am worried about Yichen.”
“Ahem.” Chen Kaiming coughed to motion for Li Qinglan to stop saying.
This was a private affair of Mo Yichen, and Li Qinglan’s words would probably be counterproductive.

Li Yunhong felt more guilty after hearing the Chens’ words. So, she was more determined to refuse Gu Yan.
“I believe that Chen Qian is really a good girl. We Mo’s family will treat her well. You two can rest assured.”
Li Yunhong’s visit finally eliminated the misunderstanding between her and the Chens.
