Chapter 2222Avery and Emiliano were clearly shocked by what they had just heard.
“Think about it, you two. Would you rather work with me and kill this punk together so we can split the
Spirit Connecting Fruits, or would you prefer to let him kill you both and hog the Spirit Connecting Fruits
to himself?” Elgado added.
“All right, then… I’ll work with you…” Emiliano said with a nod.
He really wanted to kill Jagoan, and this was his only chance at achieving that goal.
Stormwind Sect’s practice of genetic modification was considered unethical anyway, so working with
Scorching Heaven Sect wouldn’t really affect them all that much.
Avery had no choice but to do the same. “Fine. I’ll work with you too…”
“Hahaha! That is a wise choice!” Elgado said with a chuckle.
“There are only eight Spirit Connecting Fruits, though. How will we split them among us after we kill
Jagoan?” Avery asked Elgado.
“You two can each have three. I’ll settle for two. However, these ancient ruins will be turned into a base
for Scorching Heaven Sect!” Elgado replied.
Avery nodded in satisfaction after hearing that. “No problem!”
The Spirit Connecting Fruits are the real treasure here. We can’t move our sect here, so we have no
use for these ancient ruins anyway!
Skyler’s face was filled with fear when she saw the three sides teaming up against them.
As powerful as Jagoan might be, she figured he couldn’t possibly defeat such a powerful alliance.“I can’t believe you two would trust a Demonic Cultivator’s words! Even if you guys manage to kill me,
there’s no guarantee that he’ll let you guys have the Spirit Connecting Fruits!” Jagoan warned them.
“Stop trying to escape your fate, Jagoan! I just want you dead, so I don’t even care if I get the Spirit
Connecting Fruits or not!” Emiliano retorted.
“Don’t bother arguing with him, Mr. Fairchild! Let’s just get on with it and finish him off! He needs to pay
for his insolence!” Elgado said while glaring daggers at Jagoan.
He could tell that Jagoan was no ordinary martial artist.
“I was going to give you two a chance to walk away. Since you guys have decided to side with a
Demonic Cultivator, then death is all that awaits you!” Jagoan said flatly.
Emiliano guffawed when he heard that. “Hahaha! You really ought to assess your situation before
mouthing off, Jagoan!”
“All right, enough talk! Let’s get this over with!” Avery said as he threw his geomantic compass up into
the air and fired a beam of light at Jagoan.
Despite acting all confident and cool, Jagoan was actually feeling incredibly nervous deep down inside.
Even so, he had no choice but to face their attack head-on.
Dragonslayer Sword glowed brightly in his hand as the golden dragon manifested itself behind him
once again.

Having been stunned by that golden dragon earlier, Avery and Emiliano froze in their tracks when they
saw it.“Well? What are you two waiting for? That dragon is nothing but an illusion! There’s no reason to be
afraid of it!” Elgado yelled.
After snapping out of their dazed state, they quickly unleashed their respective auras and led their men
as they charged at Jagoan.
Elgado waved at his subordinates and had them attack Jagoan while he went after Skyler.
Jagoan stared the incoming attackers down as he fired countless sword energy waves at them with
Dragonslayer Sword.
The golden dragon behind him, too, swiped at the air with its tail and knocked two martial artists back
with a blast of wind. Just like that, Jagoan and the golden dragon took on dozens of men at the same
time.
