“Dad!” Jennifer hugged her father, tears welling up in her eyes.
“Jennifer!” Jacques quickly got to his feet, relieved.
If anything were to happen to his younger sister, he knew he would be in serious trouble.
“Kneel down! Who said you could stand?” Tyler thundered, forcing Jacques to kneel back down.
“Dad, don’t blame Jacques. I ran in the wrong direction. Luckily, I ran into a few kind-hearted people.
Otherwise, I would’ve been captured by that Demonic Cultivator,” Jennifer explained, still traumatized
by the incident.
Tyler cast a wary glance in Jared and his companions’ direction, his eyes betraying a hint of caution.
By now, the other members of the Summers family had subtly adjusted their positions, quietly
surrounding Jared and his two companions.
