Chapter 14: Where Are You

Alfred went crazy and threw all the bedding on the hospital bed to the ground. But there was no one in
the bed.

He searched every corner of the room, but couldn't find her.

"Lauren, where are you!"

He yelled to the air. But the only answer to him was his own echo.

He thought to himself, "Surveillance! Surveillance video of the hospital!"

Alfred quickly dashed to the chief's office. He was about to lose his mind. Where did that woman go?
Why did she disappear?

Did she want to commit suicide after having the operation?

More and more speculation appeared in his mind. He became even more worried. He admitted that he
hated her. But he never thought that she would die because of him!

When he arrived at the chief's office, the chief was chatting with a group of experts about the patients'
condition. However, Alfred came over and grabbed him by the collar and asked coldly, " Where has
Lauren gone?"

"Ms. Jones? Isn't she in the hospital?"

The chief looked at Alfred's angry face and felt a bit scared. This was the first time he had seen Alfred



lash out in front of so many people.

Alfred sneered, "Show me the surveillance of the hospital right now. If I can't find her, I don't think you
need to be the chief of this hospital anymore."

The chief was frightened when he heard that, so he immediately asked the people in the Security
Department to get all the surveillance.

Alfred stood in front of dozens of monitors, staring at the screens intently.

However, the surveillance video stopped at a time, which was the time when Lauren entered the room.
After that, all the monitors turned dark. It was clear that the video at that period was deleted.

Someone could actually hack the hospital's system in such a short period of time and then delete all
the videos. Obviously, this was not something that an ordinary person could do.

Alfred's face turned gloomy, but at least this meant that Lauren just didn't want to see him, not that she
was dead.

But his mood was not much better because of this. His face was ice-cold.

"This is the security system your hospital has? You are all negligent."

Alfred kicked the chair in front of him. The chair was thrown out and then fell to pieces on the ground.

"I, I'm sorry. Mr. Kent, this is our mistake, please forgive me. I promise we will never make such a



mistake again."

The chief was so scared that his face went pale. He was a little fat, but now he was so terrified and
sweaty that he kept wiping his face with a handkerchief.

"Find someone to fix the surveillance video right away. If you can't fix it, just hand in your resignation!"

Alfred wanted to destroy all the people in front of him. His eyes were scarlet.

Someone who knew Carrie in the hospital immediately called her, thinking that Ms. Green was Alfred's
favorite. She would be able to persuade Alfred.

Carrie drove to the hospital immediately after receiving the news. When she saw Alfred's furious look,
she was afraid and also jealous.

She already knew on the phone that Alfred was so angry because Lauren had disappeared.

Since she was missing, it would be best that she didn't come out for the rest of her life.

After Carrie knew that the surveillance video of the hospital had been deleted, she felt so jubilant and
hoped that it would never be repaired.

"Alfred, you haven't eaten all day. You'd better go back and have a rest. Lauren may just be in a bad
mood and lose her temper. She has no money. Where can she go? Just rest assured. She will be back
soon."

"Yes, she has no money! She can't go far at all."



After hearing Carrie's words, Alfred calmed down a lot. He knew that Lauren simply couldn't afford to
leave him.

He just needed to wait at home and he would hear about her soon.

After returning home, Carrie wanted to spend the night with Alfred. However, Alfred coldly rejected her.

He didn't know why. He now didn't like this woman appearing in a place that belonged to him and
Lauren.

When he got home, he saw the cat cushions that Lauren liked in the living room. He still remembered
that sometimes when he came home late, she would sit on the sofa holding a pink cat cushion and ask
him why he came back so late.

He seemed to have never paid attention to her and took her waiting for granted.

There were flowers she liked in the vases in the living room, and white porcelain tea sets she liked
were placed on the tea table. Even the carpet was the style she liked.

Alfred seemed to be able to see numerous things in an instant.

When he went home in the past, these things also existed. It was just that he deliberately ignored it.

Alfred found it very distressed to stay in the living room. He immediately ran back to the bedroom, only
to find that the faint fragrance of her still remained on the quilt.



Unlike Carrie's enchanting rose fragrance, she never sprayed any perfume. It was her own elegant
body fragrance.

His mind was filled with images of him and her having sex on this bed.

Alfred got up from the bed furiously. He hated himself for constantly thinking about her.

At this moment, his cell phone rang. Alfred thought she would not run away from him.

She must be calling him right now.

However, it was Noah who called him.

"Alfred, there is a problem with the cooperation between the Jason Group in America and our company.
You must go to America to negotiate with the person in charge of the Jason Group tomorrow. It is too
late now. You must start packing now. The matter is too urgent. You must go tomorrow."

Alfred randomly replied. He was the president of the Kent Group and was also responsible for the Kent
Group's business. He told himself not to think about that woman anymore.
