Chapter 24: It&##x27;s Really Ridiculous

He felt extremely painful!

Alfred's biggest feeling after waking up was that he was feeling unwell. He only remembered that after
having a big fight with Carrie, he went to the bar for a drink, and was flirted by many people.

When he opened his eyes and found that it was his own villa, but he was naked. A look of panic
flashed across his face. Did he bring some random woman home?

"You finally woke up!" Jonathan brought a bowl of soup and handed it to Alfred, which could make him
sober.

"Why are you here?"

Jonathan sneered, "It was you who kissed and hugged me last night and refused to let me leave."

Alfred drank the soup, put on his clothes, walked past Jonathan, and said, "I hope your ass doesn't
hurt."

Jonathan's lips twitched. Knowing that he couldn't argue with Alfred, he immediately said with a serious
face, "I just heard some news and wanted to tell you. But you were completely drunk, so I had to bring
you back first."

Alfred knew that Jonathan wouldn't come to him unless he had something important to tell him. "What
happened?"

"Someone has eyes on the Jones Group. They want to purchase it."



Alfred snorted when he heard the news. No one could take the Jones Group away from him.

"Thanks!" Alfred said to Jonathan, and then he was about to go to the company to deal with the matter.

"Wait!"

"What?" Alfred was stopped.

"It's nothing. Be safe on the road." Jonathan hesitated for a moment and decided not to tell Alfred that
he treated him as Lauren and confessed to him in the bar.

Along the way, Alfred made one call after another, grasping the Jones Group's situation in a short
period of time, so that he could make a perfect plan.

When he got to the company, he asked his assistant to check it out. It turned out that someone had
really targeted the Jones Group and knew a lot about the group.

"This woman is really coming after me!" Alfred was very puzzled to find out that the glamorous Ms.
Jones was the one behind the scenes. If it was accidental before, then this time she must do it on
purpose.

Although he didn't understand why that woman had to fight him several times, he would never let go of
the Jones Group. After all, it was the only thing left by Lauren.

Alfred set out to fight the acquisition, constantly paying attention to the development. This woman had
numerous means, but in his eyes, she was still a novice. He was already a sophisticated businessman.



He thought, "You can't beat me!"

"Ms. Jones, we..." The assistant walked to Lauren with the report, but Lauren interrupted her when she
was about to tell her the results.

"The acquisition failed?" The reason why Lauren unexpectedly took away Alfred's two projects and
aimed at the Jones Group was that with Alfred's financial strength, she thought he wouldn't care too
much about a small company like the Jones Group. But Alfred quickly found out that she was behind
the scenes and even tried his best to fight her to keep the Jones Group.

She said to herself, "Alfred, why do you care so much about the Jones Group? I just want to get back
my own company!"

"It's time to meet him!" Lauren took a sip of coffee, looked at the message of the failure of acquisition of
the Jones Group in front of the computer, and said something that the assistant couldn't figure out.

After Alfred's hard work, he was able to keep the Jones Group. He finally relaxed a lot, but the woman
was not as immature as he imagined. If it weren't for his own experience and the powerful resources of
the Kent Group, he might not be able to defeat that woman.

In order to celebrate this success and strengthened industry exchanges, Alfred held a party and invited
many business celebrities.

At the banquet, Alfred, as the host, made a speech on the podium, winning the trust of a number of
people.



"Of course, the person I am most grateful for is a woman of mine, she..." Alfred saw an uninvited guest
before he finished speaking.

"Mr. Kent, you didn't even invite me to such a big event, didn't you treat me as a friend?" Lauren wore
an evening gown with her hair tied up in a special way, which was very eye-catching when she walked
over.

Someone was already talking about their relationship, Alfred coughed a few times, and the place fell
silent again.

"I'm sorry, it's just that Ms. Jones has always been busy. You just missed an acquisition opportunity not
long ago and must be quite concerned, so I didn't dare to disturb your work." Alfred pretended to speak
for Lauren earnestly, which made the guests know that she was defeated by him.

"Mr. Kent is so easy to be satisfied. You don't even care about the two big projects that were given to
me before." Lauren wouldn't admit defeat.

Alfred didn't want to talk too much and pointed to a position to let Lauren have a seat.

"Mr. Kent." Lauren walked up to him, took advantage of the beginning of the dance, and blurted out,
"Why don't you let me take over the Jones Group? You obviously don't care about it at all!"

"Love me, love my dog. The Jones Group is left by my wife. Although I don't care, it doesn't mean that I
can give it to others!" Alfred's seriousness made Lauren feel a little funny.

If he really loved her, why would he hurt her before? It was so ridiculous that he took this as an excuse.
Lauren walked out of the party laughing out loud.



Alfred actually said that he kept the Jones Group for her, which was extremely ridiculous!
