Chapter 25: Disgusting

"Alfred, you are so disgusting. You obviously hate Lauren so much. You can't even wait for anything
related to her to disappear. How would you keep the Jones Group for me? You hypocrite!" Lauren
laughed wildly from the banquet and told the assistant to leave her alone. Unknowingly, she ran to the
overpass. Facing the lake, Lauren burst into tears.

A gust of wind blew by. Lauren's thin body swayed as if it was about to be blown away. It seemed that
she was about to fall into the lake in the next second.

At this time, a strong and powerful hand caught her by the bridge.

"Lauren!"

Lauren looked at the person who grabbed her in disbelief, "Mr. Kent, don't you celebrate at the
banquet? Why don't you run over to fight with a loser?" Lauren clearly had tears in the corner of her
eyes, but she still wore a bright smile when facing Alfred. She pulled away from her hand from Alfred
and kept a distance from him.

"Lauren!" Alfred tried his best to restrain himself, but his voice still sounded so excited. Originally, he
just felt that the woman's reaction at the banquet was abnormal, especially when he mentioned the
connection of the Jones Group with his dead wife, this woman seemed to be provoked.

Having followed her all the way to the overpass, Alfred couldn't believe that the woman in front of him

"Mr. Kent, I don't understand what you mean. It won't do us any good if we keep staying here. Please
go away." Lauren had heard Alfred calling her name, but Lauren still pretended to be indifferent.

She thought to herself, "Alfred, so what if you know? The woman you hate so much died. But she is
now standing in front of you. You must be pissed off."

After being treated indifferently by Lauren, he was a bit hurtful. But he had expected it a long time ago.
If he were here, he would not forgive what he did.

"Lauren, I know it's you, but I want to say sorry to you." Alfred had so many things to say to her, but he
came up with these. He looked at Lauren sternly, begging for her forgiveness.

Lauren said to herself, "I am sorry? Can this eliminate all the mistakes you made back then? Alfred,
you are so selfish!"

"Enough! I'm Ms. Jones who is competing with you, not your coward wife." Lauren scolded Alfred who
was trying to get close to her with a cold face.

After hearing this, Alfred turned pale and let go of Lauren. She thought he couldn't keep doing this and
decided to leave. But she was caught off guard by him and held into his arms tightly.

"Alfred, you..." Lauren yelled and struggled, but Alfred covered her mouth.

"Lauren, I felt so familiar when I first met you. Although you took away my project, I don’t hate you at
all. Do you believe in fate? God sent you back to me. I will never give up on you." Alfred brought
Lauren closer to him. His nose leaned forward and sniffed the familiar scent of her!



Hearing Alfred's affectionate confession, Lauren couldn't deny that she was moved. But the past
experience constantly reminded her that this man would never do what he promised and couldn't be
trusted.

"Emm."

Since the woman refused to admit it, he would remind her of the intimacy between them in the past.
Alfred kissed Lauren's lips hard, leaving no gaps between them.

"Asshole! Shame on you! You always force others to do things. What else can you do besides using
force? Alfred, you can't hurt me anymore!" He kept saying that he loved her, but never really
understood her. How could a man like him say anything about love?

The moment she slapped, the two of them were stunned. Lauren looked at Alfred's red face and her

resist Alfred.

affectionate gaze.

"I owe you this slap. Lauren, don't deceive yourself anymore. Look, don't you remember what we did
before?" Alfred stretched out his hand to hold Lauren again, but she shook it off.

"Don't pretend in front of me. I won't believe you! So what if I am Lauren? Haha, you can't hurt me
anymore. And I will get back what you owe me!"

Alfred knew that Lauren was now repelling him, but couldn't help but hug his lost wife again. But before



he could hold Lauren, she avoided him. "Since you won't leave, then I will go by myself!" Lauren
scolded, pushing away Alfred, and stormed away angrily.

Alfred disturbed Lauren's mind. Since Alfred already knew her true identity, she would definitely be on
guard. It might be difficult for her to work in the future.

Alfred restrained his thoughts about pestering Lauren. What Lauren needed now was calmness. He
would make Lauren trust him in the future.

Back at the company, a tense atmosphere reappeared. All employees were working overtime to deal
with opponents' attacks, especially the acquisition that had not been completed last time.
