“He Miao?” Lu Shuang picked up the phone and said in a tired voice, “Xia Yan is in the hospital now. If you want to see her, can I just tell you the address?”

“I…” The woman frowned in grievance and looked up at the man for help with tears in her eyes.
Chen Zheng raised his hand to stop her from speaking. His dark eyes looked at the woman who seemed to have aged ten years in an instant. “Aunty Lu, I’m sorry. It’s all my fault. I’ll find the best doctor to treat her.”
Lu Shuang narrowed her eyes. The sound of her high heels clicking on the ground was like the last bell that demanded her life. “The two of you better pray that my daughter is safe. Otherwise, I will make you two pay with your blood!”
The elevator doors opened with a ‘ding’. He Miao led Xu Meng and Jing Yan into the corridor outside the emergency room. She was stunned when she saw the three of them confronting each other.
