Chapter 83

Anika went to work filled with anger and completely ignored Zac when he tried to talk to her on the way
to work.

After finalizing the North City project, Anika concentrated on NY Company's preliminary work and
moved to the new first-floor office.

She was about to pick up the progress reports that Sara had submitted when she heard a knock on the
door.

"Please come in." Anika said.

"Jael, it's only been a year since we last met.Why are you being so formal?"

"I called you first thing in the morning.Aren't you still mad at Zac?"

Anika paused for a moment and then said, "Shouldn't I be angry?"

"That's right.It's natural for couples to argue from time to time.It's not like you and Kayden are still in a
relationship.I used to think you were gentle.Let Zac teach you how to fall in love." Natie said.

Natie's expectations of a relationship were the clearest of Anika's.She also recognized Anika's tenacity
and persistence in recognizing one thing.

However, it was Zac who forced Anika to choose between these people.

Natie sighed with emotion after she finished speaking, "In comparison, you and Kayden were like
simply business partners."

‘Is my relationship with Zac a normal relationship?’ Anika wondered.

It stunned Anika for a moment before she smiled.

"Do you think I should stop being mad at him?"

Actually, she did not know why she had lost her cool with Zac so casually.

She had always felt that doing so would drive people away, and she didn't dare to express her
disappointment with people close to her.

Natie sighed, "Very Good.The bottom line is women want men that dotes on them.Based on your
temper, even if you let it go a hundredfold, what he did is still far from crossing the line.Anika, enjoy
your most relaxed state right now.Don't allow yourself to become too conflicted’

Anika recognized her concern and smiled and nodded, "Alright, I understand."

Anika realized it was time to leave work after hanging up the phone.

Anika shut her laptop, took the elevator to the parking lot, and boarded the Bentley parked in its usual
spot.

Zac noticed that she had said nothing after getting in the car.

He cast a casual glance at her and asked, "Are you still mad?"

Anika turned her head to look at him and thoughtfully curled her lips, but she said nothing.

For a while, the car was remarkably quiet.

When the driver drove the car out of the parking lot, Zac coughed softly and said, "Tony just called and
said he had opened a private room in JH.Do you want to go sit for a while?"

Anika lowered her eyes in response to Zac's gaze.She nodded after a moment of silence.

‘Anger is anger.But in front of other people, I must still have to give him face’ she thought.

Tony and the others had already been in the private room when Anika and Zac arrived at JH.

Zac was about to open the door to the private room when Anika frowned and looked at him.

"You go in first.I just need to call Sara Bradley.I'll be back shortly.Anika noticed the purchase details for
the production line that Sara sent.Zac nodded and pushed the door open, knowing the call was work-
related.

She finished speaking with Sara Bradley on one side of the corridor.



Someone suddenly patted Anika on the back as she was about to enter the private room.

"Anika, what a coincidence.Tanner Bush, who had just exited another private room, smiled as he
approached.Anika recognized him as a high school classmate and politely nodded.Tanner took a
business card from his pocket and handed it to her.

He exclaimed enthusiastically, "We haven't seen each other in a long time.Will you be able to attend
our high school reunion?"

Despite having the second-worst grades in the class, Tanner was good at eating, drinking, and playing.

He was also their class monitor.

Tanner 's group has been organizing the gatherings for the past few years.

Only Anika and Zac had never been to one.

Anika paused for a moment before replying apologetically, "I'll do my best, but I'll have to see if I have
time’ Tanner did not insist.

Instead, he nodded and responding, "Okay, the location is in the class group chat.You are welcome to
come over if you have the time."

"Well, if it's convenient for Zac, why don't you call him?" he politely followed up.

Anika replied with a smile, "Alright, I'll ask him."

Being smiled at by someone he secretly loved back then, Tanner scratched his head sheepishly and
generously said, "Oh, yes! If you go to JH in the future, please mention my name.Tell them it's all on
me so you don't have to pay!"

Tony, Tanner , and Nash founded JH together in the beginning.They were all bosses, all three of them.
