Chapter 113

Songs were playing in the JH Club's large private room.

Tony was in a good mood as he sat by the bar table.

He took a drag from his cigarette and turned to face the lonely man on the sofa.

"Zac, when you came out late at night, did Anika say anything about you?"

Zac gave him a sidelong glance before setting the wine glass down.

He replied with a soft snort, "What do you think of me? Am I the same as you?"

Tony's family had recently forced him to go on a blind date.

He had no choice but to fight back.

Tony's mother was horrified by his eating, drinking, and talking habits, and he suffered greatly as a
result.Leo smiled and raised his brows when he heard this.

"Oh, your family is getting tired of your bachelor attitude?"

"Yeah."

He did not have a tangy or faint voice, but he did have a hint of boasting in it.

Leo laughed at his friend after hearing that.

He got to his feet and grabbed his coat.

"So, if you want to play around, go ahead.I've got to get home now”

"Can you tell me where you are going?" Tony wondered.



"Home."

Leo puts on his coat after he checked the time on Tony's phone.

"Recently, there has been a restriction on entry to our place.It is not permissible to drink outside in the
middle of the night"

"Tsk, your wife is a stickler."

Tony looked at Zac and shook his head "It is still great to see you, Zac.I did not notice your wife calling
you to come home right away.’ Zac was silent.

Those words were not pleasant to hear, no matter how hard they sounded.

Suddenly, the phone on the table rang just as Tony finished speaking.

Zac glanced to see who was calling before he picked it up.

"Where have you gone?"

"Oh, I'm having a drink here at the JH Clubhouse with Tony and the others."

He raised his voice in a hazy manner.

Anika’s voice, on the other hand, sounded quite pleased when she spoke into the microphone.

"Then have fun.There is no need to return home right away.’ Zac listened intently.

Zac met Tony's and Leo's gazes.

He softly coughed and said, "I see your point.What exactly are you advising me to do? I was about to
go home anyway.’ Anika said carefully, thinking he had misunderstood her meaning, "I did not rush you



in any way.Nataly has showed up.She's a little lonely and needs a companion.JH clubhouse is quite a
distance from our apartment.Instruct the driver to take you home for the night if you have had too much
wine."

Zac choked slightly as the words came out of nowhere.

He simply nodded and said, "I'll think about it later.I will be the first to hang up"

When Tony noticed Zac putting down the phone, he asked, "Zac, is your wife urging you to go home?"

Zac slightly pursed his lower lip and said carelessly, "Oh, I don't want to stay outside for too long.I'm
missing you.’

"Then why are you still standing there?"

Tony hurriedly threw the man’s coat at the door to him and urged, "Go home!"

Zac examined his coat in his bosom before turning to face Leo, who stood outside the private room's
door.

He said slowly, pointing to an empty bar table, "But how about you guys?"

"Don't worry about us, Zac.Hurry up and leave so that Anika would not have to wait for you at home for
too long,’ Tony said thoughtfully.

Zac nodded in reply.

Anika accompanied Nataly, who was in a very sad situation.

They went to the balcony to drink for a while.

Nataly did not plan to drink much, but in the end, she did.



When the drunkenness faded, and the two of them lay on the bed next to each other for a while,
chatting.

Nataly stared helplessly at Anika, who had already fallen asleep an hour later.

She was still getting ready to leave when she checked her phone for a missed call.

He heard the door open just as he was about to walk downstairs.

Zac asked the driver to circle the main city twice before he returned to the villa when Nataly emerged.

Nataly smiled and greeted the man in front of her.

"After a glass of wine, Anika dozed off.I'm leaving right now”

"The driver is still out on the street’ Zac said as he looked upstairs.

"Permit the driver to take you."

"Thank you." Nataly did not say no.

When she was about to close the door, she suddenly remembered that Zac had asked her about the
lucky charm bracelet with a slightly persistent expression when she first met Zac four years ago.

"Uhm, Zac” Nataly said as she shifted her gaze.

"Anika became a lot more lively after she got married.In fact, she was much happier here and at the
orphanage than when she returned to the Meyers."

Nataly was two years older than Anika.



She had a sense of responsibility as an older sister because of the fact that they were good friends
who grew up together.

"Can you keep her happy?" she asked seriously, looking into the man's dark and calm eyes.

"Of course” Zac said solemnly, his lips pursed.

"That's excellent."

Nataly took a deep breath and exhaled a sigh of relief.

When Anika awoke the next day, she rubbed her eyes and discovered she had returned to her master
bedroom.

"Where is Nataly?"

She frowned as she turned around to see the man beside her.

"She went home last night"

Zac flicked her head when she noticed Anika was deep in thought.

"What is the matter? Do you really want to evict me from my home?"

Anika had told him the day before that if he drank too much, he did not have to rush home.

Zac had the impression that she did not care about him.

Anika reached out to hug him with a shake of her head.

"No, I just had to accompany Nataly”



"Aren't you afraid that Ill be kidnapped?"

He looked down at her and said in a light tone.

"Were you scared?" Anika asked, pausing for a moment before raising her eyes.

"No." Zac sighed and rubbed the back of her neck.

"Don't worry, no one is going to kidnap me."

Anika smiled and buried her head in his arms.

She thought of another thing, "Zac, what do you want for your birthday?"

"Nothing really."

He had already obtained what he wanted the most.

"How come you don't want anything?"

Anika was not satisfied with his answer.

She raised her head again and looked at him with a frown, "Think again.”

"Anika, do you think life can be restored?" Zac asked, his eyes deep.

"Why do you ask?"

"If I could start over, I would have a wish."

"What wish do you have?"

He did not respond.



After Shawn went to prison, Zac went to see him once.

Shawn was timid and casually intimidated him, telling him a lot about Anika when she first returned to
the Meyer family.

If there was any regret, it was probably because he had not noticed what had happened behind her
silence and what she was going through on her own.

If she could really start over, she would probably want to go back to that time and protect all of her
