Chapter 887 Thank God I Had a Strong Heart

When Samuel returned from the outside, Zac had already come back. However, Zac's expression was
not very good. Samuel did not say anything but sit down on the chair in the corridor.

The reporters were still waiting.

Samuel looked so grim that no one dared to utter a word.

As for Elvis, he knew that something must have gone out of his control, as the reporters waiting at the
entrance didn't see Samuel there. But Samuel had already been released.

"Gerry, go pack up. Let's get out of here."

Elvis had no choice but to leave this place.

Although Nicole was now between life and death, the fact that she could get people from the Order of R
to find Elvis’ own research base had already sent him jitters. Worse still, Samuel had been released.
Elvis knew that he could send Samuel to jail only because Samuel was caught unprepared. However,
this was Samuel's territory. Given that Samuel was now distracted by Nicole's condition, Elvis thought it
was the best time for him to leave.

However, Gerry was somewhat unreconciled.

"Dad, if we leave now, all our efforts will go down the drain. Besides, what about the stuff we want..."

"It's still there, and I don't think Samuel knows anything about it. Otherwise, he would have already
taken it out. We can't stay here now. Son, everything I did was for you. If something bad happened to
you, I don't know what I can do for the rest of my life. So pack your things right now. I'll see you at the
airport."

After Elvis hung up the phone, he looked at the door outside.



It was Heather and the others.

Elvis knew they were skilled, but he smiled contemptuously.

If he wanted to leave the Technology Center, just walking through the gate was impossible.

Elvis came to the window and looked down. There were lines of cars below. This was the 13th floor,
and getting out from here wouldn't be easy. However, if he went down to the 12th floor and took the
elevator from there, it would probably do the trick.

Thinking of this, Elvis opened the window and jumped over.

He jumped from the balcony on the 13th floor to the one on the 12th floor. Fortunately, it was attached
to an empty room.

Elvis smoothed his suit and took the elevator from the 12th floor.

And Heather knew nothing about it.

After Gerry hung up the phone, he felt unreconciled no matter how he thought about it.

He came back to the Seapolis City to take over from Samuel and take control of everything here. And
now he had to leave with none of the above accomplished. He was really pissed off.

Gerry thought for a moment, but he still chose not to follow Elvis’ words. He took a taxi to the Green's
alone.

When the security guard at the Green's saw Gerry, he was slightly stunned and stood straight
subconsciously.

"Mr. Green."



"Yes."

Gerry nodded and walked into the Green's fair and square.

There were only Wendy and Lucas in the house. When Gerry walked in, Lucas just opened his room
door and was hurrying to the bathroom. He was surprised at the sight of Gerry.

"Samuel? Why are you back? Where's my mommy?"

Gerry was a little surprised, too.

This was the first time he had seen Lucas in person. Although he had seen him in the photo, this close
observation made him somewhat excited.

"I came back to get something."

"Okay."

Lucas rubbed his eyes and yawned as he entered the bathroom.

Gerry frowned a little.

Nicole's life was at stake. How could her son still look so calm and relaxed? Was it because Samuel
didn't tell him?

Gerry was not sure. But thinking of what he wanted, he quickly went up to the study on the second
floor.

However, after Lucas closed the door, his sleepy eyes instantly lit up.

The kid quickly took out his phone from one of his sleeves and sent a message to Samuel.



"Samuel, where are you?"

Samuel happened to be holding his phone at the moment. He was slightly surprised at Lucas'
message. Then he replied immediately, "I'm in the hospital. Your mom hasn't come out yet."

"You're in the hospital?"

"What's wrong?"

Samuel noticed that Lucas' reaction was a little unusual.

Samuel replied instantly, "There is a man who looks exactly like you at home. Do you happen to have a
twin brother?"

Samuel was slightly stunned.

"Gerry?

But wasn't Gerry already dead?"

Since everything was handled by Nicole, Samuel did not know the relation between himself and the two
Gerry. And he certainly did not know that there was another Gerry. Hearing Lucas' words, Samuel's
eyes narrowed slightly and his expression turned cold.

"Take care of yourself. I'll send someone back to deal with it."

"Alright."

After hanging up the phone, Lucas put his phone back in one of his sleeves and flushed the toilet. Then
he went out of the bathroom yawning.



He looked upstairs and found that the door of the study seemed to be unclosed. Thinking of the study
room as Samuel's secret base, he quickly went upstairs.

"Daddy, did you see my overalls?"

Lucas rubbed his eyes, looking very tired.

Gerry's searching immediately stopped.

He rapidly opened the door of the study and saw Lucas standing right there. Thankfully, Gerry didn't get
caught.

"Why the kid is so annoying?" He thought.

Gerry put on a smile and said, "You should know where it is. It's your overalls."

"Wendy washed it the day before yesterday. I don't know where she put it. Please help me find it. I
want to wear it."

Lucas murmured. He reached out to pull Gerry's arms, but Gerry stepped back quickly. The man smiled
and said, "Go ask Wendy. I'm in the middle of something right now. Good boy, leave me alone here."

While speaking, Gerry intended to nudge Lucas out of the door.

Lucas did not struggle either. He only turned around touching Gerry with his hand and then went
downstairs.

As Lucas returned to his room, Gerry heaved a sigh of relief.

He had to leave this place as soon as possible. With this brat here, Gerry's identity would be exposed
sooner or later. However, he didn't know that Lucas had already sensed something wrong with him.

Lucas didn't have overalls at all!

Samuel knew this.

It was a pity that the man in the study didn't know it.

Lucas was shocked that there was someone looking exactly like Samuel. If the man were his dad, how
come they had different temperaments? But if he wasn't, how could they be so alike?

He couldn't work it out. Anyway, Lucas quickly turned on the computer. A live camera view appeared on
the computer, and he could clearly see everything in the study.

After closing the door, Gerry quickly searched through Samuel's desk and bookshelves. Lucas had no
idea of what he was looking for.

The kid frowned slightly.

"Samuel, he seems to be looking for something."

Lucas took a picture and sent it to Samuel.

Samuel lowered his head and looked at his phone. Since he was communicating with her son via
Twitter, others did not know what Samuel was doing. They only felt that his look of solemnity made it
frightening for them to come near.

"Looking for something?

What do they want from the Green family?"



Samuel had no idea, but still, he sent a message to Lucas.

"Stay cool. If he wants to leave, let him go. Don't follow him, alright? I'll take care of it."

Seeing Samuel's reply, Lucas nodded.

"Alright."

Lucas saved the video on the computer and then went back to sleep.

Samuel called Jacob. No one knew what he was saying, as Samuel went to the other side of the
corridor.

Zac was absent-minded so he didn't notice Samuel's movements.

But Ernesto did. Yet he didn't dare to follow.

With all these people anxiously waiting, Nicole finally came out of the emergency room. But her face
was terribly pale.

"Doctor, how is Mrs. Green?"

Ernesto asked immediately.

As Nicole was out, Samuel hung up the phone and walked over quickly.

"How's she?"

Being a little intense, the doctor still replied rapidly, "She suffered from blood loss. Though her life was
saved, she still need to rest. And she needs peace right now. Otherwise, her baby might be in danger.

Samuel's face immediately turned pale.



"Nikki, can you hear me?"

He held Nicole's hands tightly.

Nicole was asleep and she looked weak. But when no one saw her, she opened one of her eyes and
smiled at Samuel.

Samuel was slightly stunned, then sighed in relief.

"Take her to the ward. No one is allowed to disturb her rest during this period of time."

"Understood."

Ernesto promptly followed the doctor to the ward.

He couldn't help but glance at Zac. He realized that Zac was a little distracted.

Samuel also saw that, and he whispered to Zac, "You can go now. Ernesto is enough here."

Brought back to reality by Samuel's words, Zac nodded.

"Drive safe."

Samuel added, still a little worried.

Zac nodded again and left the hospital.

After Nicole was taken to the intensive care unit with Samuel, the reporters outside became active. In a
short while, the news that Nicole was stabbed by Jamar's wife was further exaggerated.

In the ward, Samuel closed the door and hugged Nicole tightly.

"Did you plan to scare me to death?"



The news made his entire body tremble intensely, especially when hearing that Nicole was covered in
blood. He was nearly scared to death. Thankfully, Zac explained everything to him in time. Otherwise,
Samuel would literally break into the emergency room.

Seeing that Nicole's complexion remained pale, Samuel asked worriedly, "Are you OK? I can see your
face..."

"It's makeup. I'm fine. The doctor and I took care of all this. Don't worry, I'm totally fine."

To show that she was fine, Nicole intended to get out of the bed. But she was held by Samuel
immediately.

"Don't move. Let me hold you for a little bit longer. You are the one who can surprise and frighten me at
all time. Thank God I had a strong heart."

Samuel put his arms around Nicole. The way he trembled made her realize that the man was indeed
concerned about her.

"If I didn't do this, I won't be able to take the initiative. Besides, if I'm right, Elvis is probably planning to
run away now."

Just as Nicole finished speaking, Samuel's phone rang. Looking at the caller ID on his phone, Samuel
frowned slightly.
