Chapter 1564 Cara Was Stunned

Nicole dodged quickly, but when she pulled the old injuries on her body she hissed silently. The woman
stopped when hearing Nicole’s voice, and Nicole brought her under control.

“Cara, it’s me.”

Nicole knew the woman was Cara Clint when she spoke after coming in. Actually, it was easy to
understand why she was there, and it’s because Laurence was there too. On the other hand, Nicole
admired Cara, for she never gave up Laurence, the man she loved.

Cara knew it was Nicole, so she quit fighting back, and whisperer, “Mrs. Green, what happened to
Laurence?”

“I injected sleeping potion into his body, he won’t be awake for a while, and we intend to take him away
with us, do you have any idea?”

Cara shook her head gently.

“There are bodyguards all over this mansion looking for you and Young Master, it’s not gonna be easy
to get out, but there is one person who can help us out.”

“Who?”

“Evelyn Mason.”

It shocked Nicole a little bit.

“Mason is here?”

“Doesn’t Mrs. Green come here for rescuing Evelyn Mason?”

Cara was a little astonished. Apparently, she didn’t know that Nicole was invited here by Martin.



Nicole got no time to explain why she was there. Knowing that Mason was there as well, she thought of
her when she met her lately.

“Do you know where she is?”

“Yes, come with me.”

“Okay.”

Nicole asked Lucas to go back and stay in the vent and went out with Cara.

It looked like Cara knew this place pretty well. Every time when they were about to be seen by the
bodyguards, Cara could take Nicole into another room safely.

Seeing all of this, Nicole had doubts, but she asked nothing.

The paths were very complicated, and Nicole felt like she was in a maze. Seeing Cara leading the way
so easily made Nicole open her mouth.

“Cara, how long have you been here?”

“More than a week.”

Cara’s answer made Nicole silent.

It was very capable of her to remember so many ways and patrol timing in such a short time.

Finally, after a long time, Cara took Nicole into a room.

“Who is it?”

Evelyn was about to hit with her fist subconsciously for self-defense but was stopped by Cara.



“Mrs. Green is here for you.”

Cara finished her words, and let go of Evelyn’s hand.

Last time when Nicole met Evelyn, they were in haste and didn’t have a good conversation. Now,
seeing Evelyn was fine, Nicole felt relieved.

However, Nicole stunned Cara before she noticed.

Evelyn was shocked, and asked right away, “Why did you do this?”

“I don’t trust her now.”

Nicole didn’t mean to doubt Cara, but she became more cautious after going through so many things.

Mason raised her eyebrows and had no intention to stop her, so Nicole understood that Evelyn also
suspected Cara.

“I talked to her just now. She told me she has been here for a week. But I don’t believe that she can
know this place so well with just one week. What’s more, she led me to this room without alerting any
body guard here. That is impossible.”

Eventually, Mason grinned.

“She did come here more than one week ago. I had been detained here for half a month, and she
came here before me, and I heard she was the one that was caught by Martin first, and Laurence was
caught later because of her.”

Sure enough!

Nicole believed that Davon was able to take good care of Laurence and would not allow him to be
caught by others when he decided to cooperate with Laurence, and it was impossible that Martin had



the chance to capture Laurence.

All of this was because of Cara Clint!

It all made sense now.

When Cara was caught, as her boyfriend, Laurence, of course, would go and rescue her. That’s why he
was trapped by Martin.

But now, it looked like Cara was on the side of Martin.

So, was it true that she enticed Laurence to come and save her when she was seized?

“Do you know what happen to her? I just can’t believe that she would change her side, and trap
Laurence up. She loves Laurence so much.”

Evelyn took a glance at Cara in coma, and said, “It’s true, she did change her side and went against
Laurence.”

“What?”

Nicole became speechless because of astonishment.

Evelyn continued in a low voice, “Now is not the time tell you all of it, we’d better leave here first. I
heard that Tim was rescued and is here in the reception hall in this mansion.”

“Yeah, you’re right, he is here. But I need to take Laurence out with me. I can’t leave him here alone.”

Nicole thought Laurence would be safe since Cara was here with him, but she didn’t expect that Cara
had changed her side already.

She had no idea of why Cara would betray her love, but now the top priority was to leave this place.



Evelyn stopped for short, and asked, “You really want to take Laurence with you?”

“Yes. I want to take Cara with me as well, although I don’t know what was going on with her. She can
be left here alone, otherwise, she might be ruined.”

Hearing what Nicole was planning to do, Evelyn frowned, and murmured, “Well, I can help you to send
them out, you go with them.”

“Lucas is in this mansion too, he will be here at any minute. Later, you send him and Laurence out first,
I need to find Samuel, I have something to ask him.”

“Okay.”

Evelyn nodded.

Nicole didn’t ask how she should send them out, but just told her where Laurence’s room was.

Mason spoke softly, “Now I go and take him back, you can’t stay here any longer, you’d better go out
and threw this mansion into turmoil, like setting on fire, to attract the attention of bodyguards, so I can
send them out more easily.”

“Good.”

Nicole agreed.

Before long, the yard was on fire.

Martin burst into anger after knowing what happened.

“Is the firefighting system just for decoration? Put it out now!”

Seeing Martin getting angry made Samuel and Time pleased.



“It seems my wife and son are troubling you now. My son is naughty, I shall thank you for letting my boy
having such a good time, Mr. Close.”

Being taunted by Samuel, Martin felt itching to kick him out of his mansion.

He knew Samuel was not a man that could be trifled with, but he had Nicole and Lucas in hand, so
Samuel would not dare to go hard with him. Now what Nicole and Lucas did was out of his expectation.

He did feel regretful now.

Martin spoke, faking a smile, “I know Mr. Green was joking with me, and I hope Mr. Green will
compensate my loss later. It is said that the Green family is wealthier than a king.”

“It has nothing to do with you whether my family is wealthy or not, Mr. Close, isn’t it? It is said that Mr.
Close was also involved in what happened in the Harper Town mine, right?”

Finally, Samuel asked the question he wanted to know the most, and it made Martin silent.

This man was cunning like a fox! Anyone could be easily cheated by him if they didn’t pay attention to
what he did.
