Chapter 1789: You Are Too Impatient

Upon hearing that Lucas’s ankle was twisted, Michele didn’t care about other things. She jumped off
from the handrail of the balcony and ran towards the corridor.

Yasmeen breathed a sigh of relief and rushed up. She slashed on the back of Michele’s neck.

Michele was quite brilliant. Sensing the attack from Yasmeen, she reacted quickly. They soon started
fighting against each other.

Right after Lucas and Edison started their conversation, they heard the fight in the ward. They
exchanged a glance with each other, running back in unison, afraid the two women in the ward would
cause considerable damage.

When they arrived, Yasmeen and Michele were fighting fiercely.

Instantly, Edison panicked. Despite that he couldn’t win against Yasmeen, he rushed over to help
Michel.

Lucas saw that and couldn’t believe Edison had the guts to hit Yasmeen.

Hence, Lucas directly rushed to stop Edison, and the two men started fighting at well.

When Yasmeen found they were fighting from the corner of her eyes, she felt so helpless. While
gasping for breath, she said, “Stop it! Help me restrain Michele. She got a needle on her neck. She
should have been stabbed on her coma acupoint.”

Upon hearing it, the two men stopped.

Edison was upset, but he didn’t dare to get closer, afraid to hurt Michele. Lucas didn’t have so many
concerns. He directly hit the back of Michele’s neck.



Michel rolled her eyes and fainted directly.

Lucas, however, didn’t take care of Michele at all. He directly turned to look at Yasmeen, only to find

“What?”

Yasmeen didn’t come back to her senses while feeling that her feet were in mid-air. Lucas lifted her and
carried her to the sofa in the ward. He quickly poured a glass of warm water for Yasmeen.

“Have some water.”

Yasmeen saw Lucas take care of her so considerately and said shyly, “Michele is the patient. Why are
you taking care of me? I’m fine.”

She felt a bit guilty when telling him she was okay. However, she covered it in Lucas’s presence, so
she tried hard to keep calm.

A meaningful light flashed through Lucas’s eyes. He said, “Edison is taking care of Michele. You are my
girlfriend, so I should take care of you. Hurry up and drink it.”

“Okay.”

Yasmeen felt delighted because Lucas kept saying she was his girlfriend.

She had never known Lucas could be such a sweet talker.



However, Lucas felt frustrated.

In the past, Yasmeen was quite good at fighting. Seldom people could win against her. However,
shortly after she fought against Michele just now, she started gasping. He could tell that her kidney
ached.

Although Yasmeen covered it well, Lucas still told it from her expression.

At the thought that one of her kidneys was functioning in his body and Yasmeen had only one kidney,
Lucas knew she must be cautious no matter getting pregnant, giving birth, or fighting. A sharp pang
surged in his heart suddenly.

“Did you say there was a needle on her neck?”

making her unconscious for the time being. I thought about the hypnosis you mentioned earlier.

Edison, for Lucas’s sake, I’ll let go of you this time. Next time, if it happens again, I’m gonna beat you
up. You can’t cry by then.”

Lucas didn’t defend Edison at all. In his opinion, Yasmeen didn’t have to stop Michele or fight with her
just now, as Michele’s life or death had nothing to do with her at all. If she hadn’t fought with Michele
just now, her wound wouldn’t ache.

At the thought of the pain that Yasmeen was bearing, Lucas felt as if an invisible hand had pinched and
twisted his heart. He was suffocated.

Edison looked at Lucas, only to find that his face was darkened. He knew he had acted too recklessly
this time. He wanted to apologize but didn’t know if Lucas would accept it, just like Yasmeen said. For a

“Why are you standing motionlessly? Hurry up and call the doctor? Do you want to watch Michele die

withdrawn, she will still commit suicide again.”

Upon hearing it, Edison came back to his senses. Hurriedly, he pressed down the emergency button.

Lucas rolled his eyes on him and said, “I was about to tell you about it. But you rushed back as soon as
hearing the noises in the ward. Edison, you’ve been too impatient.”

“Boss, it’s my bad.”

Edison truly cared about Michele. Although she liked Lucas, Edison couldn’t take back his love for her
at all.

Lucas was angry at him, but he also knew what Edison was suffering. He kept this matter in his mind
as Yasmeen had a pain. He decided to make Edison pay the price in the future.

Hurriedly, Lucas told Edison about his investigation.

Right then, a doctor came over. Yasmeen had some researches in this field, so she started discussing
it with him.

Watching her talking, Lucas felt quite upset.

He left the ward in silence. With the cell phone in his hand, he walked to a quiet corner, found a contact
on his phone. Then he started Facetime.
