“What are you looking at? Write down what I’ve said.”

Lucas frowned slightly. He looked around all people at the scene coldly, emanating a significant
pressure.

Maddie immediately said, “No! Lucas, you’d better think about the consequences for it. You are a major

Since he had made a choice, he clearly knew what the consequences would be.

was still in ICU and was not out of danger. I heard that she was only twenty-three years old and had no

other reasons, but I was the one who shot and injured the hostage. This is the truth. No matter what the
reason is, I don’t deserve to be in my current position just because of this fact.”

“But, Major Green, even you’ll receive a punishment, with the persuasive reasons, you don’t have to
resign from the military. Probably you could still work in logistics, but your military status would remain,”
one of the soldiers said.

Their military status was exchanged by blood and lives. Lucas was quite outstanding with so many
feats. He had completed so many missions perfectly. They believed that this only-time mistake could

Lucas wanted to be accountable.

He took a deep breath and said, “I know you all don’t believe me, but I’m telling the truth. There are no
other reasons. I might be a bit sleepy at that time.”

Lucas had just come back from another mission before being assigned to this one, so his reason
sounded quite reasonable.

The others exchanged glances with each other, feeling hesitant.

Maddie hurriedly said, “I’ll let you consider it again. They can come back tomorrow.”
