"Mrs. Green!"

Laurence still wanted to stop her, but Nicole was so determined that she already squatted down and
started treating the injured.

"I've learned to dress wounds. Your wound needs hemostasis. Let me help you."

Nicole spoke fluent English.

"Thank you, but please leave this place now. Those people will be back soon."

Nicole replied calmly.

"Turn around."

As the gunman was pointing the gun at her, Nicole had no choice but to turn around.

A charming man came into sight.

He whistled. Upon hearing it, Laurence put on a cold look.

He pointed his gun at Laurence.

Nicole stood in front of Laurence.

Her unyieldingness surprised the gunman, and then the gunman smiled evilly.

doctor. Move. Come with me."

Under his threat, Nicole and Laurence were led out of the church.

The shooting outside continued.

The gunman owned a military vehicle.

He let them hop in, stepped on the gas and drove away.

Everyone else stepped aside when they saw the gunman.

It was obvious that he had some influence here and might be a senior.

Trying to figuring him out, Nicole said to Laurence in Chinese, "Don't act rashly later. It looks like this
man is a higher-up. Safety comes first."

"But if they lay a finger on you, I won't let them off even if I risk my life."

Laurence said it ferociously.

The man suddenly smiled, "What if I want her? What can you do?"

He asked in Chinese fluently.



Nicole and Laurence were speechless for a moment.

"Do you speak Chinese?"

"I didn't say I can't, did I?"

The gunman gloated.

Nicole frowned slightly. She found it repulsive to hear rioters speak Chinese in such a place. This made
her feel very humiliated.

"Are you from Country Z?"

"You're asking too much, woman."

The gunman's eyes darkened.

The car quieted down and the silence was depressing.

The man drove the car to a nearby government agency.

Nicole and Laurence were brought out of the car.

There were armed insurgents guarding this place, and when they saw the gunman, they all stood up
and saluted.

"Boss!"

Nicole's and Laurence's expressions instantly changed.

Why did they call the gunman Boss?

Was he their leader?



Sensing Nicole's surprise, the gunman smiled, "I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Sam Boone. Welcome
to my base camp. Please."

Nicole didn't know him. Now that he told her his name, she just remembered it.

Laurence held her hand tightly.

Nicole could feel his nervousness and worry and smiled, "Take things as they come. If Sam wants to do
something to us, we can't escape it, can we?"

"How courageous! I like you."

Sam was smiling evilly, and the people behind him forced Nicole and Laurence in with guns.

Sam went to the office hall.

Laurence looked around and nudged Nicole.

It was Joseph!

She was filled with excitement.

She never expected Joseph to the first family she met in South Africa.

Laurence was happy too.

He pointed at Joseph.

Joseph frowned slightly, looking like Samuel in some way.

"Little boy, come out!"

When Sam's subordinates saw Joseph hesitate, they kicked him.

Only then did Nicole discover that Joseph's leg was injured and bleeding.

This unsettled her.

"Stop!"

She ignored Laurence's tug and stood up.

"How can you be so cruel? You actually hit a child. He's injured. Are you blind?"

"Who is he to you?"

Sam stared at Nicole with something unfathomable in his eyes.

Nicole trotted over and took Joseph into her arms.

"Where did you go? Does it hurt? Why didn't you dress your wound?"

Tears welled up in her eyes.

Joseph had endured too much at a young age. Now, he was injured. Nicole, as his mother, came to
him belatedly.

"Sorry baby, Mommy is late."

Nicole hugged Joseph tightly.

"Mommy, I'm fine."

His voice is a little hoarse, probably because he was thirsty for a long time. This broke her heart.



Sam was surprised.

"Are you his mother? So you're Samuel's woman, right?"

Nicole paused for a moment before she looked up.

She detected a flash of hatred in Sam's eyes.

She wondered if he had a grudge against Samuel.

So Joseph was detained here because of Samuel.

"Do you hate my husband?"

He had a good laugh. "Do I hate him? Yes, to the bone!"

Sam's entire face contorted with rage.

"Someone, tie this woman up and hoist her up on the flagpole outside. At the same time, call Samuel
and tell him to come alone. Otherwise, I'll cut his woman alive."

As soon as Sam made the threat, Joseph stretched out his small arms to protect Nicole.

"Nobody touches my mommy!"
