Chapter 4: Stood Her Up

Celestie's eyes lit up with excitement when she heard Danica’s plans.

Finally, her friend had plans for her life.

"Speaking of which, our company is offering training for scriptwriters to study abroad.It would be a great
opportunity for you if you really wanted to start your career! I will help you apply to Director Shaw’’ she
said happily.

Danica studied drama and film when she was in college, but she became a full-time wife after
graduation.

However, Celestie knew that her friend's dream was to work in a film production company.

She didn't want Danica to bury her dreams, so she helped her get hired as a part-time scriptwriter.It
had been years since Danica started working as a part-time scriptwriter, but it remained a secret
between them.

No one else knew about it, not even Theo or her family.

It was because she had used the pen name, Wisteria.

"You're not kidding, right?"

Danica got excited hearing the news.She had been waiting for this kind of opportunity.

And now that it was in front of her, she wouldn't miss it for life.

"Of course! You know what, Director Shaw had always admired your talent.You've been working with
him as a part-time scriptwriter for years.I think it's time for you to do it full time.I'm sure if you apply, he



will nurture you with all the resources and provide you with all the training that would help you hone
your writing skills to become a great scriptwriter" Celestie exclaimed.

Celestie was working at Shaw Stewarts Films, founded by the most awarded actor, Manuel Shaw, and
his good friend.

They had retired from their acting career a few years ago and decided to make movies.

The two founders hired teams of well-known scriptwriters, directors, and artists.

And for the past few years, all the dramas and films that the company produced were blockbusters.It
had brought a lot of impact on the viewers.

"Okay, I'll apply for it," Danica agreed without hesitation.

After getting a divorce, she realized that going abroad was the best way to move on and start a new
life.

The moment that Danica left the country, she would forget everything in J City, even the memories and
heartaches she had.

And this time, she would love herself first and focus on her career.

Unfortunately, Theo went on a business trip for three days, so Danica had no choice but to wait
patiently.

That day, Celestie had promised to accompany Danica to Shaw Stewart Films office to sign a contract
as an official scriptwriter.

Then, she went to the Dalton family's old residence to talk to Terrence, Theo's grandfather.

Since she decided to divorce Theo, she thought it would be best for him to inform the old man.



After all, it was only the old man who had treated her genuinely during her stay with them.

Half an hour later, Danica followed Terrence out of the study room with slightly red eyes.

They had already treated each other like family, so the two had become emotional after the
conversation.

When they finally went out, Danica unexpectedly bumped into Theo, who had just returned from a
business trip.

He wore a gray suit that enhanced his tall figure and made him look mighty.

Theo had a sharp jaw, pointed nose, and a pair of cold eyes that always gave chills to Danica.He also
had the mature and calm demeanor of a thirty-year-old man, and his presence screamed power and
cruelty.

Danica couldn't help but get mesmerized by his appearance.Then, she immediately looked away when
she realized that she had been staring at him for a long time now.

As usual, Theo's gaze on her only lasted for a second.

Then, he whispered to the old man, "I'm sorry, grandfather.I came late."

Terrence called Theo that day for some family matters.

However, Theo didn't expect Danica to be there after asking him for a divorce.

"If there's someone you should apologize to, it's not me but her!"

Terrence barked while moving his gaze from Theo to Danica.



Remembering how determined Danica was to get a divorce, Terrence couldn't help but get angry at his
grandson.

After that, he shook his head in disappointment and left.

Theo frowned slightly.

And with eyes full of accusations, he looked at Danica, standing at the side.

When Danica saw his expression, she knew that Theo might have thought that she was complaining
about him to his grandfather again.

The way Theo looked at her, she could tell she was accusing her of something she hadn't done.

"If you think that I ruined your name to him, I didn't.Don't worry, all I said to him was for your own good’’
she said, even though she knew he wouldn't believe her.

After that, she walked away without turning her head.

What she said to Terrence was indeed for Theo's own good.She wanted to divorce him so he wouldn't
get trapped in this loveless marriage they have.

Danica did all of this for Theo to be happy with the woman he truly loved and gave herself time to heal.

Theo's face completely sank because of what Danica said.He could still hear the sarcasm on it.

Danica had always been gentle and obedient to him during their three years of marriage.He couldn't
believe that she had changed into a different person these past few days.

She now talked back at him and made decisions for herself.



Theo tugged the tie around his neck.He was furious, but he suppressed it, and then he went to find his
grandfather.

Minutes later, Theo walked into the kitchen and looked at Danica sharply.
