Chapter 8: Still Had Affection for Him?

Danica got annoyed with Theo's remarks, so she cut him off by saying, "Actually, no.I don't think I could
feel any better.I went out and drank with Celestie because I wanted to celebrate this milestone.I'm
simply rejoicing my freedom.So, what are you waiting for? Are you still going to sign or not?" she said.

Theo's smirk turned to wrinkled eyebrows after hearing what Danica said.

Danica was suffering from a severe headache and a bad hangover.

She simply wanted to sign the contract and get over it so she could sleep.

Theo clenched his teeth and glared at her fiercely.He then shook his head, took the pen from his side,
and signed the paper in a flashy manner.He made sure to do it quickly while Danica was in such a
state.

Otherwise, it might show that he did not want this, and he could not live without her.

‘Who are you? Who do you think you are! You are not even close to being deserving of me!’ Theo
reminded himself while signing.

Only others asked him for help.

They were the ones who begged on their knees for him while he never did.

Besides, Danica could not live without him, not the other way around.

Danica dropped her cap and walked away without looking back after signing the divorce certificate.

She had already booked a flight to leave the country in the afternoon and would go after taking a
nap.She felt nostalgic as flashbacks of what used to have been running on her mind.



Her father and brother called her nonstop last night, probably wanting to stop the divorce, so she did
not answer them.She had transferred the money she earned as a part-time scriptwriter to them and
switched off her phone after.

Danica felt she had already given her all as a daughter and sister.She made sure that despite the
challenges she was facing, she would still do her duties in the family.

A group of reporters was still waiting outside the Civil Affairs Bureau, but they still had not seen
Mrs.Dalton, not even her shadow.

Instead, they sat and waited for Theo to leave with a scowl on his face.

He got besieged by a swarm of reporters, and one of them asked, "Mr.Dalton, may I ask if you have
already resolved the divorce process with your wife or not?"

"What does it have to do with you? Why are you that invested in knowing?" Theo replied to the reporter
with so much anger.

It made the reporter silent that she was not able to move.

Even after Theo drove away, she still had not recovered.

A year quickly passed since they filed a divorce.

Danica stepped out when the elevator reached the eighth floor and followed Celestie.

At the same time, Theo, who was dressed in a black suit, and his personal assistant exited Manuel
Shaw's office.

The ex-couple unexpectedly ran into each other in the corridor.



Celestie had barely taken a sip of her coffee when she saw Theo was heading in their direction.

"If you want, you can stay here.I will go and find Director Shaw" she softly said to Celestie.

Celestie nodded, and Danica took it as a cue to walk towards the door.

She entered the director's office after glancing at Theo.

Danica still pretended that she did not see Theo.

But Theo had already seen her from a distance.

In fact, his gaze even met hers! After a year of not seeing her, Danica suddenly had become so
attractive that she quickly caught his attention.



She cut her black straight hair and turned it into lazy, short, and curly hair, the trending hairstyle these
days.

She looked fashionable, beautiful, charming, and a lot better than the last time Theo saw her.

She had delicate makeup on, and her plump lips had become more attractive.

Even when she stood side by side with a famous actress like Celestie, she did not seem inferior to her
at all.

When she walked past him, a fresh scent of a woman enveloped Theo's sense of smell.

"Good day, President Dalton” Celestie greeted as she walked over and approached him.

Theo looked straight to Celestie and directly asked, "When did she come back? Since when did she..."
he did not even manage to finish his question.

Celestie pretended to be clueless and smiled, "Huh? What do you mean? Who are you talking about?"

Theo let out a sigh of frustration and said, "You know exactly who I am talking about"

Celestie pretended to realize and replied, "Oh, right! Danica.Yeah! She just arrived in J City today.And
she is quite unlucky, considering she met you right away”

Theo gave her a fake smile and said, "How can it be called bad luck? After not seeing each other for a
long time this should be called a reunion."

Celestie squinted her eyes as she got puzzled and remained silent.

‘If Theo had said these things, could it be that he still has feelings for Danica?’
