Chapter 11: Not Familiar With Mr.Dalton&##x27;s

Indeed, Danica was with a young actor named Kris Tanner, which might be her potential love interest in
the future.Their meeting was quite predetermined and fated.

Her best friend, Celestie had previously worked in an urban drama where the plot revolved around a
sibling love between a mature woman and a young man.

Therefore, the cast required a young man as the male lead role.

She was outside the country when Celestie contacted her to help in choosing someone to play the
male lead.

There were so many male artists, and Danica said that looking for the perfect one was hard.

Her profession was a playwright; thus, her suggestions over the choosing process were important.

Identifying the background and the physical features of an artist could affect the overall portrayal of the
character they would play.

Danica knew that she had a certain degree of control over the selection, so she picked someone ideal
for the role.

In the end, she and Celestie chose Kris.

As expected, he didn't disappoint the public's meticulous eye.

Ever since the drama aired, the ratings had been steadily increasing, which only proved that Kris lived
up to everyone's expectations.

Now that she was back in the country, Kris decided to treat her to dinner.



He planned to solemnly express his gratitude for helping him to make his career skyrocket upwards.He
owed his beautiful life today to Danica’s recommendations.

However, Danica had no idea that one of Theo's friends saw them entering a private room at the
restaurant.

Just as she and Kris were halfway through their dinner, someone knocked on the door.

It was a waiter carrying a plate of fancy steak in his hand.

The waiter walked towards them and placed the steak on their table.

Kris looked at him and asked, "Didn't we receive all of the dishes that we ordered earlier?"

"Sir, this steak is our signature dish.Mr.Dalton specifically requested to give this to this elegant lady
here” the waiter smiled as he explained.

"Mr.Dalton?"

Danica repeated just to make sure she heard it right.

After hearing the surname, she immediately grimaced at the bad thought as something tugged on her
heart.She pressed her lips and fixed her gaze on the meat.

‘Dalton..” she quietly trailed.

Could it possibly be from him? From her ex-husband, Theo Dalton? Wasn't she on bad terms with him?
After a year of being apart, why would he offer her a steak? Danica recalled that she had met him once
at Shawn Stewarts Films.

What made her run into him for the second time this week? Out of all the places that he'd make his
presence acknowledged, why would he do this for her tonight? Especially on her dinner with Kris? They



had been separated for a year, but Theo still had the guts to send her a steak to eat.

What exactly was the meaning of his mysterious action? But no matter what her ex-husband was trying
to imply, she wouldn't accept his offer to eat the steak.

All those three years served as a lesson for her.She wouldn't be swayed away again by Theo's kind
actions.

Danica apologetically smiled at the waiter and stated, "I'm afraid that I won't be able to eat this
steak.First and foremost, I am not familiar with anyone named Mr.Dalton.Second, I'm allergic to beef
and mutton.So, no."

When the waiter heard that she was allergic to the food offered, he had no choice but to apologize
respectfully.

He then took the plate and quietly left the room.

Of course, a customer with a food allergy was a serious issue.

The restaurant couldn't afford to be held accountable regarding that kind of concern.

She exhaled silently, but couldn't contain the self-mockery and sarcasm that she felt when she slightly
dropped her eyes after the waiter left.

In their three years of marriage, even though Theo constantly ignored her, he should at least know that
she was allergic to beef and mutton.

It was funny how Theo didn't spot that small detail in her.

But nothing was even more hilarious when she assumed and hoped that he knew something when, in
fact, he didn't care at all.



That situation only proved how indifferent, uncaring, and uninterested he was in those three years.

Since she was a kid, she had never consumed sensitive food like beef and mutton because her entire
body would be covered with red rashes.

When she was still married to Theo, she observed that food like beef and mutton regularly appeared on
their dining table.

He seemed to love eating meat dishes, which was absolutely opposite to her.

Kris shifted his gaze to Danica's lovely face and asked, "Mind if I ask something? Who is this,
Mr.Dalton?"

What a poor young man.

He probably felt clueless that he asked her a question she didn't feel like answering.

Her relationship with Theo was unknown to the media and public.

Furthermore, she rarely attended any family occasion by the Daltons, but she showed up once during
their family anniversary.

She was all dressed up for that event, so few people thought she was one of the lovely and noble
Daltons, not Theo's wife.

The only thing that Kris knew about her was that she was just a scriptwriter, not someone who had a
failed marriage with a powerful man, She shrugged her shoulders as a reply.

"Well, I don't know, either.Perhaps, he mistook me for someone else; she smoothly lied to end the
irritating topic.She was adamant about hearing something from him and didn't expect to hear his name
that frequently today.Danica didn't even want to say Theo's name at all! All the more, she didn't



anticipate running into him twice since her return to the country.Danica had only hatred for her ex-
husband, and she abhorred the fact that he had a huge effect on her.She was really in an unfortunate
state.

The waiter went back to the private room where Theo and Patrick were and respectfully said, "The lady
said that she was allergic to steak, Sir.She also stated that she was unfamiliar with your name.Upon
hearing that, Patrick spat a mouthful of wine.He tried his best not to laugh at his miserable friend before
speaking, "Did I hear that right? Danica said that she doesn't know Theo?"

He then burst into laughter, prompting Theo to cast a frigid and harsh stare at him.
