Chapter 38: Her Work Report

Kris' words worried Danica very much.

Everyone knew how popular he was.

His mere presence could attract lots of fans.

If more people knew about him being there, fans would swarm her house and eventually block
downstairs.

Danica's eyes widened.

She was completely in trouble.She hurriedly ran to the window and drew the curtains open.

Sure enough, she saw a few young girls gathered downstairs.She quickly closed the curtains and
massaged her temples as she turned to Kris.

"What do we do now?"

Kris was extremely calm as compared to Danica, who was completely flustered.He threw his body onto
the sofa, rested his arms on the back of his head, and smiled handsomely.

"Then I won't leave’ Danica grunted at his statement.

She pulled at her hair, anxious and frustrated.

"A man and a woman can't be together in a room alone.Imagine what other people would think!"

She was grateful that Kris visited her, but it would be inappropriate to let him stay overnight.

‘He's a popular idol.I'd definitely die miserably in the hands of his fans if they found out about him
staying here; she thought nervously.



Kris sat up and comforted her.

"There are many residents in this building.I guarantee you that no one will know I'm here."

Danica still felt anxious about the whole setup.

She moved towards him, sat beside him, then tugged at his arm as she begged, "Call your company
now and ask them to drive your fans away.Once they're gone, then you can leave”

Instead of getting his phone, Kris reached for a pillow and hugged it tightly as he looked at her like a
lost puppy.

"I'm tired and sleepy after driving the whole night to come here.Do you still have the heart to drive me
away?"

Danica sighed, looked at Kris, and said seriously, "You have to go.We can't have unwanted gossip to
go around.Otherwise, your reputation will be ruined."

Danica knew that Kris's career would be ruined if people found out that he was with a divorced woman,
who was also a woman six years older than him.

When Danica was abroad, Kris also participated in activities several times.

They went out together and had meals, but she always saw him as a younger brother.

Celestie once told her that Kris might have feelings for her, but Danica had no reason to believe that he
did.

It was completely impossible.

She thought about all the reasons why this was impossible.



First, it had only been a while since she had known Kris.

Second, she was six years older than him, and she was pretty sure that he only saw her as his
sister.She couldn't possibly accept it.

Danica still remembered how Celestie shook her head that time to her reaction and told her, "So what if
you're six years older than him? Isn't Theo six years older than you?"

"So you're telling me only men can find girlfriends younger than them, but women couldn't do the same
thing? Does the world work like this? It doesn't make sense!"

Celestie had always been defiant, and Danica couldn't argue against her.She knew of some couples
where the man was younger than the woman.

It was not something new.

But still, Danica couldn't see herself in such a relationship.

Danica was still lost in her thoughts when her phone rang.

When she opened her phone, it was Manuel.She sighed in relief as a glimmer of hope presented itself
in front of her.

‘Manuel might be my lifesaver! I could ask him what to do in this certain situation; she thought.

‘He had been a famous actor for years, so he must be well-versed in these kinds of things.He definitely
knew what to do’ Danica felt giddy.

But before she could open her mouth, Manuel suddenly spoke, "Theo just sent me a message."

A frown suddenly graced her face.



She felt nervous and immediately forgot about the current problem she was in.

All she could think about was the script.

"What did he say?" She swallowed a lump.

"He said that you need to go to his company now.There are lots of things about the plot that he needs
to discuss with you.Only then can he decide whether the script is already good enough"

Danica raised a brow as she spoke, "Go and talk to him right now? Isn't it already beyond office
hours?"

Manuel smiled and said, "Maybe Theo is a workaholic.He's still at the company, working overtime."

Whether what Manuel said was true or not, she knew that Theo was adamant about meeting her
tonight.

Danica gripped her phone tightly as he bit her lips.

She didn't want to be in the same room as Kris, but meeting with Theo was no better.

Even if they would just discuss the script, being alone with him was not something she wanted.
