Chapter 6

Since Patrick and the others exited the elevator first, Sophia was the last to leave.Her sharp eyes were
eventually drawn to the exquisite pink paper bag in John's hand.She could tell it was for a woman even
without looking closely.She suddenly realized that today was Adriana''s birthday and bitterly thought,
'Even if Patrick is extremely busy, he will get off work just so he wouldn't miss a chance to celebrate her
birthday and would even make time to prepare a present for her: She couldn't help but ponder what he
did for her throughout their five years of marriage.

In the end, her mind came up with nothing.

Indeed, she was nothing to him compared to Adriana.

Emma whispered angrily.

The children repeatedly shouted, in a singing voice though it was quite hurtful in Emma's ears.

Harvey encouraged a handful of children, who frequently played with him, to yell together.

Soon, the entire kindergarten was filled with their yells.

Quentin was quite protective of Emma, so he took a step forward and shoved Harvey down.



"Emma is my girlfriend; if you want to bully her, you have to ask me for permission first, whether I agree
or not!"

This was the scene Sophia witnessed the moment she arrived at the kindergarten school.

How could Harvey let himself suffer from Quentin's hands? So, without hesitation, Harvey swiftly stood
up and angrily fought back.

When Sophia noticed this, she hastily stepped forward to hold him back.

"Children should only love each other.Why are you two fighting?"

"That's because Harvey bullied Emma! He even made fun of Emma for not having a father” Quentin
snarled.

Sophia's face paled hearing his answer.Her heart ached for her daughter, and she was extremely
shocked because she hadn't expected that even these children knew how to make fun of other
people's imperfections.She was a terrible mother.

Before she gave birth to Emma, Sophia simply knew that when she decided to divorce him, her
daughter was destined not to get the fatherly love she deserved.But seeing this situation, she couldn't
help but blame herself.

She always insisted that she could give Emma a warm and pleasant childhood even without her father,
but it didn't come to her mind that Emma had to pay for the selfish decision she made five years
ago.She had to endure so much at such a young age.She suddenly felt distressed for her daughter.

But what could she do in their situation? Nothing! Quentin's face had been bruised, and Harvey was no
better.



When he saw that Quentin and Emma had an adult to help them, Harvey's momentum immediately
weakened but still arrogantly said, "I'm going to go home and inform my father.

Harvey then loudly cried while walking away, feeling wronged.

Emma's wide eyes turned to her mother.

To gain sympathy, she stepped towards her mother and pretended to apologize as though she had
been deeply wronged.

"Mom, it's my fault.Quentin got into a fight with Harvey because of me."

"No, Ma'am, if you have to blame someone, then blame me" Quentin said, looking like a responsible
adult.

Sophia turned and took a closer look at the small guy standing next to Emma.

He was indeed a miniature version of that person.

His distinctive facial features were quite pronounced with his expressive eyebrows and prominent nose.

"Auntie, this has nothing to do with Emma.As a man, one must accept responsibility for what he does."

Even his overbearing temper, as well as his other attitudes, were very similar to that person.

The most crucial thing was that he, too, had the surname Evans.

Through these clues, Sophia was sure that this was the child of Patrick and Adriana.



Although she deliberately avoided everything related to him and decisively walked away five years ago,
she was aware of the engagement ceremony that shook the entire Frostford City.

Maybe they would have held the wedding ceremony if not for the fact that Thomas Evans, Patrick's
father, hadn't reached his three-year-long mourning period.

"Are you hurt? Auntie will bandage you up, okay?"

But Quentin was not concerned about his injuries and continued to defend Emma.

A black Rolls-Royce was moving steadily along the road.

With his eyes closed, Patrick leaned in his seat with his legs crossed to rest for a bit.

There was a faint shadow under his eyes, indicating that he hadn't gotten enough rest last night.



Adriana, his fiancee, was also seated next to him.

Group, and a typical rich daughter born with a golden spoon in her mouth.

In addition to her exceptional family background, she possessed both beauty and intelligence that
made all women envious.

recently returned from studying abroad.

Adriana reached out to take hold of his large hand on his calf.His touch felt warm that she couldn't help
but be mesmerized for a moment.

She truly treasured every minute and every second she spent with him.

No one in Frostford City could compete with this man's noble background.

He was destined to stand out amongst others.

As he calmly sat there, every cell in his body exuded a certain level of coldness and sharpness that
could intimidate others.

Although everyone dreamed of getting close to him, this kind of self-made individual was truly difficult
to approach.So, she was delighted that only she could get close to him like this.

"Don't worry” he said.

He then stretched out his hand and gently took her soft, boneless little palm in his own.He seemed
exhausted.

Adriana was well aware that managing such a large company required a lot of effort and energy.

He dismissed her concerns by saying that everything was fine, but she was certain that he'd been busy
all night long.He was always like this.

Even if it were a serious matter, he would not tell her so she would not be so concerned.

About ten minutes later...

The car slowly came to a halt, and the driver stepped out and opened the door for them, respectfully
saying, "Sir Evans and Miss Clifford, we've arrived."

Aman stepped out of the car, followed by a woman.

Everyone's attention was quickly drawn when an attractive man and a lovely woman suddenly
appeared.

The latest Rolls-Royce Phantom was parked across the entrance of the kindergarten, revealing the
prominent background of the owner.

This was the time when parents had to pick up their children from school, so it was quite crowded.

Soon, the attention of everyone was solely focused on the couple.



Even though Quentin was a reserved child, he couldn't help but get excited seeing his parents.

He shyly asked, "Are you here to pick me up? You two are not busy?"

His question was not without reason.
