The man inside said in a deep voice, "Please come in"

Sophia pushed open the door and walked towards the table.

The man was sitting at his desk, reading documents.

"President Evans, this is the meal sent by the General Manager for lunch.I am here to bring your share"

She addressed him as President Evans to show her respect and kept her distance.

Patrick frowned and replied with a grunt.

Sophia realized that she was not told to go just yet, so she politely stood for a while.

But she also saw that he was seriously reviewing the documents as if he had no intention of speaking,
so she chose to turn around and go out.

Just as she was about to leave the room, Patrick asked, "How did you sleep last night?"

"I slept well!"

Sophia replied, "One night without dreams’

"Is that so? You didn't wake up in the middle of the night to turn on the lights?" Patrick asked.

Sophia shook her head firmly, "No, I did not wake up in the middle of the night last night."

She lied.She had insomnia last night, and she liked to turn on the lights every time she had
insomnia.She was afraid of the dark, and someone said that people afraid of the dark tend to feel
lonely.

"Sit on the sofa first.I will give you a document to work on later.Help me arrange it in the afternoon."



Patrick instructed Sophia.

Sophia felt that they had finally entered a formal business relationship.

Thus, she walked over happily and waited for him to bring her the documents.

After a while, the man picked up the lunch box she brought and walked to her side to sit down.

He pointed to the stack of documents on the reception coffee table, "Take a look at these documents
first.I have to use them in the afternoon.Hurry up and sort these out."

Sophia nodded, "Yes, President Evans."

When she walked out of the General Manager Office with the documents, she found out that the
documents could not be sorted out in a week, let alone in an afternoon.

It seemed that she would have to work overtime again every night this week, and just thinking about it
made her headache.

Meredith, Theresa, and Jenelyn finished their work and disappeared like wisps of smoke in the
evening.

Sophia was still young.She should be enjoying a night out after work.

But here she was, living like an old person every day.

Sophia didn't like staying up late.

She wanted to read books, drink tea and play chess.

Patrick was also working overtime.

On the way to the beverage room, he passed by the General Manager Office entrance.

drenched in the rain.

Patrick's car stopped in front of her at this moment.

He opened the door and said, "Get in.

I'll take you home’ Sophia bit her lip and subconsciously distanced herself from him.

"No, Mr.Evans, I'll just take a cab."

Patrick frowned, "Get in the car."

Sophia shook her head.

Patrick didn't say anything anymore.

He closed the door and stepped on the accelerator as the car shot out like an arrow.



The car disappeared in a flash.

Sophia smiled, but she felt something about to fall from her eyes.She knew it was tears, but she was
still trying to hold it back.She was glad that she pulled back in time and didn't have any more fantasies
about him.

When she got home, Sophia was already drenched.She took a hot bath and climbed into bed.She
thought that her feelings were like a dam breaking.

Once it cracked, the water inside it would gush out continuously.

When she got up the next day, Sophia felt that her head was heavy and she felt dizzy.

Her experience told her that she had the flu.

If only she knew that she would catch the flu after being drenched by the rain last night, she would
