Chapter 32

Sophia's body was too uncomfortable, she felt hotter and hotter as seconds passed by.It felt as if she
was being constantly burned by fire.

"Sophia, wake up!" Patrick said as he broke free from her embrace.

He immediately walked towards the door to leave, but the moment his hand touched the doorknob,
Sophia's delicate hands wrapped around him again.

She walked around him and tiptoed as she tried to kiss his lips.But to no avail, she couldn't reach it,
and that made her groan in frustration.

Patrick leaned against the door, as he tried to restrain himself from kissing her.

Plus the fact that she smelled nice and her body was throbbing too.It was really hard for him to do so.

On the other hand, he thought that if he wouldn't react to what she was doing then probably, something
was wrong with him.

"Sophia, you choose.Do you need my help? or the doctor's?"

Patrick couldn't help but turn around and press her against the door.

His pair of big hands held her moving arms, as he looked at her pathetic appearance.He was aware
that her reasoning at the moment was quite fragile, but still he wanted her to choose.

Meanwhile, Sophia's eyes were focused on his lips as they moved, she knew that he was telling her
something, but it seemed like, she couldn't understand it.

With all her might, she struggled to break free of his hold on her, but no matter how hard she tried to,
Patrick was more powerful than her.



Sophia felt helpless that she could only bite her lips as her tears unconsciously fell.

Patrick was a little startled by her tears that he sighed.

"I don't want you to regret everything when morning comes"

Slowly, he loosened his grip on her.But the moment Sophia broke free, she dashed towards him again.

Sophia felt that he was too tall, so she wrapped her hands around his neck, and that made Patrick
bend down and meet her lips.

Patrick was very tired of Sophia's actions, but he was helpless because he didn't know what to do with
her situation.

He gently held her waist with both hands and he had the urge to respond to her kisses, but somehow,
he felt that something was not right.

If he didn't take advantage of her last night, then why did he give her up five years ago? He pulled
away from her and uttered, "Sophia, I will call the doctor"

As much as he wanted to have sex with her now, he couldn't do it.

Patrick knew that if he did, it would just worsen everything.

Furthermore, he didn't want to see the regret on Sophia's face when morning came.

Sophia felt like her head was about to split into two the next morning when she woke up.

And the memories of what happened last night were still vague to her.Those kisses from last night were
still vague to her as if they happened a long time ago.

But, she was aware that Patrick didn't take advantage of the situation.



Sophia was relieved that he was rational at that time and that he stopped himself when everything was
going too far.

Now that she had thought about it.

Wasn't she a little overconfident last night? Perhaps he could have easily refused the glass of wine that
contained an unknown liquid from last night.

But because of what she did, everything became complicated.

Sophia went to open the door when someone knocked, she glanced at her clock and saw that it was
nine o'clock in the morning.

She was surprised to see John who was standing outside her door, it seemed like he drove all night
just to get to her place.

"Hello, Miss Hill.Mr.Evans has sent me here to take you back to the company.Please pack your things,
we're about to leave in a few minutes."

Sophia was perplexed for a while and nodded.She wanted to ask him something, but she swallowed
her words in the end.Besides, she didn't even think that it was necessary.

Sophia suddenly felt tired as she sat in the car with Typhoon in her arms.She felt that not only her heart
was tired, but also her baby.

Sophia returned home after her business trip.She rushed towards Fiona's apartment with Typhoon in
her arms to see Emma.

However, Emma seemed to have gained a lot of weight.

Because she was eating a lot lately.



Emma had not seen Sophia for a few days, and Emma missed her greatly, that was why she kept on
pestering her with questions.

"Both of you looked like lovers who haven't seen each other for a long time.I am amazed at how the
both of you are so affectionate with each other’ Fiona jokingly said as she watched the interaction
between the pair of mother and daughter.

"Yes, that's right! I felt so miserable these past few days without seeing her.I really missed her"

Sophia said with a smile as she looked at Emma and Typhoon playing happily from the side.

Emma played like crazy for the whole day.

Sophia also played with Emma for the night, and when she was tired, she fell asleep on the sofa.

Sophia took Emma to bed in the guest room with care.She went out after tucking her in and turning the
lights off.

Fiona sliced apples and placed them on the fruit plate and gave Sophia one.

This served as their dessert for dinner.

"Why do I feel like you are very tired? You only went on a business trip for a few days, yet why do you
look so tired? Did something happen between you and Patrick? Come on, tell me."

Fiona could easily tell that Sophia was acting strange.She was a keen observer that was why she could
tell what was wrong with Sophia with a glance.

"What are you thinking? Your imagination’s too broad.Besides, nothing is going on between us! You
dummy!"

Sophia said as she ate the apple and knocked on Fiona's head.



For a moment, Fiona thought.

"Yes, you're right, what happened between you and Patrick is already in the past and what was bound
to happen had already happened.There is nothing left to happen."

Sophia remained silent.

Her face flushed inexplicably.

As she recalled what happened last night, she couldn't help but feel an indescribable feeling in her
heart.

Sophia couldn't literally point out what it was but even if she remained silent, it didn't mean that nothing
had truly happened.She couldn't help but wonder if she would still be able to face Patrick in the
company normally in the future.

If Patrick could do it, should she also pretend that she was capable of doing the same? Wouldn't that
be too embarrassing for her? Sophia returned to the General Manager's Office the next day to settle
the sales leave after she officially returned from her business trip.

Jenelyn was envious that Sophia could go on a business trip with Patrick.

As soon as Sophia returned, she grabbed the opportunity to ask her all kinds of questions.

Sophia felt like dying when listening to the curious ramblings of Jenelyn.

"Did you and President Evans have the opportunity to eat together? Or did both of you ate alone? His
car is a limited edition Rolls-Royce, right? Was it comfortable?"

"Eating alone, and the car, they're nothing much.Everything's just like that’ Sophia tidied up the facts.



Jenelyn sighed, "Tsk, it's said that you are one of the rare female employees of the Evans Company
who has no feeling towards Mr.Evans! Like what I expected, you really live up to your reputation!"

‘That's right!’ Sophia exclaimed in her heart as she laughed.

She had already given up on him.

Thus, how could she still have any feelings for that man? Brandon invited her out for dinner after work
and requested to bring Emma along with her.

She didn't want to agree, but she felt that it was pointless if she didn't accept his invitation.

She would just simply meet him.

Emma was not someone whom she could conceal nor wanted to conceal.She was her lovely baby girl
that everyone would like.She was her darling and her everything.

Emma wasn't quite shy like she had anticipated.

Instead, she enjoyed herself with Brandon's company.

Later on, she started calling him, "Uncle Brandon."

"What is your relationship with my mother? You still haven't told me about it"

Emma tilted her head and asked Brandon.It was obvious that her daughter wanted him to be her father.

"Emma! That's not polite.You shouldn't be rude towards the adults!" She reprimanded.

Emma quieted down and could only utter "oh" and obediently ate her food.

Brandon flashed a smile and hugged Emma.



"Your mother and I were very good friends.So, in the future, uncle will come to see you much often, is
that okay with you Emma?"

Emma didn't respond but instead, glanced at her mother and nodded carefully.

Brandon returned the mother and daughter home after their dinner.

Sophia got out of the car, while Brandon also followed as he personally carried Emma out of the car.

"Shhh, she's sleeping.I'll carry her upstairs for you," Brandon gently said.

Sophia saw that Emma was sleeping soundly.

Besides, they lived on the seventh floor, and she didn't have the heart to wake her up, so she nodded
and agreed to Brandon's suggestion.Now that Emma was settled in her bed, Sophia walked Brandon
out.

She could only sigh as she watched him leave with his car through the window.

Sophia couldn't bring herself to think about the past, but what about the future? She really didn't want
to set expectations, especially for herself.

The weekend began the following day.

Sophia slept in a little later than usual.She prepared herself to see her mother in the hospital when she
was interrupted by a text message.

The screen showed the sender of the text message, it was Patrick.

[Come down for a while.Let's talk.]



After the incident that night, she returned to Frostford City first.She didn't have a clue where he went
and she didn't give a damn about it either.

‘Talk? What are we going to talk about? Are we going to talk about the kisses that we shared that
night?’ Sophia couldn't help but think about the reason why Patrick would want to talk to her.

He suddenly disappeared after that night and simply sent John over to fetch her.Needless to say, she
knew exactly what he meant by his actions.

She knew that she shouldn't think of everything that happened between them that night! Instead,
Sophia should focus on her work, as well as on her own life too.
