Sophia assumed that anyone who could enter this restaurant was either wealthy or from a well-known
family.

Otherwise, it was unreasonable for the waitress downstairs to stop her and order her around.

Despite the waitress's politeness in addressing them as Sir and Ma'am, she still dared to order her a
while ago, probably because the waitress saw her casual attire.

Sophia felt that she has lowered Brandonr’s level as a result of this.Maybe if Brandon showed up on
his own, the treatment would undoubtedly be different.

Brandon approached Sophia and gently caressed Typhon, who was in her arms.As Brandon caressed
the dog's head, it tilted slightly.

After a while, Brandon felt a piercing gaze from behind him.

When Brandon turned around, he saw Patrick staring at them.

As if he didn't see anything, Brandon turned back to Sophia and wrapped his arm around her back.

After Brandon and Sophia returned from a business trip to Hillwood City, Brandon admitted that there
was something going on them, but Patrick still refused to accept it.

Patrick stayed for a few seconds before heading down to the other corridor.

Sophia took out her cell phone from her bag.She saw a short message in her inbox.

It was from Patrick.

"What is it?" Brandon asked Sophia.

Sophia pressed her phone screen a few times before deleting the message she had just seen.

Then she put her phone back in her bag.

Brandon was intrigued by her hesitation and asked, "Who is it?"

"It was just a spam text message” I want to scold the sender, but I don't see the point in wasting my
time to send back a reply to him"



Brandon smiled as he said, "It really is a typical Sophia's style"

In a private room not far from them, Patrick was discussing a collaboration with a few foreign shopping
mall owners.

Patrick was the same as he had been in the past when negotiating.He was professional, calm, and
responded promptly to every question.

However, it was noticeable tonight that he was not as focused as he had been in the fast.

He would lower his head from time to time and frequently take out his phone to glance at it.

Some of the businessmen around him were clever people, and they all simply smiled.They said nothing
in response to Patrick's behavior.

Men were often more thorough and rational than women when it came to technical matters.

But of course, a woman with capability was not someone who should be ignored.

Especially a woman who could read the mood.

Everyone understood that President Evans was in this state because the excitement hadn't worn off
just yet.

Two hours hds passed by the time the meeting ended.

Several businessmen shook Patrick's hand and said their goodbyes before getting into their cars.

As he sat in the back seat, Patrick drank some wine and became dizzy.

Then Patrick asked himself, ‘Why didn't I drink much tonight?’



Didn't he agree that everyone should become drunk if they weren't drunk just yet? John waited for
Patrick to sit down before starting the car.

At the same moment, another car drove away from the parking spot next to them.It was Brandon's car.

"Do you want to follow?" John inquired when he saw it.

Patrick instructed, "Follow them and see where they are heading!"

The man in the back seat massaged his brows as he spoke with a hoarse voice.

It was not until they saw the car in front of them driving into the area where Sophia resided that Patrick
signaled to John that he might proceed in the direction of his apartment.

Sophia returned to her house.

When she pushed the door open, she saw Fiona and Emma were seated on the sofa.

She had no idea what they were studying with their heads lowered as the two of them kept on arguing.

Fiona mumbled to herself, ‘Why are we even fighting over this?’

"It's wrong for you to argue like this, Aunt Fiona.This is a leaf, and a leaf can't be yellow." Emma
replied.

Emma pointed to the side, where there was a complete photo of a jigsaw puzzle.

The leaf she was pointing at was indeed green.

Sophia put down Typhoon and moved closer.

It turned out that they were both occupied with a jigsaw puzzle.



The sudden appearance of Fiona and Emma did not surprise Sophia.

During these past few years, she and Fiona had nearly confided everything that happened throughout
their lives to each other.

Sophia had the key to Fiona’s house, and Fiona had the key to Sophia's house as well.

It was just that these days, she was really thankful to Fiona.

She would not have gotten her overtime pay back then if Fiona didn't assist her in taking care of
Emma.

Fiona pretended to be deep in thought by slightly turning her head.

"Hey, you scared me to death; when did you come back, and why didn't you make any noise?" Fiona
inquired.

Emma turned around and saw that it was her mother.She dashed over in a hurry.

Emma exclaimed excitedly, "Mom, you're finally back!"

"As expected, she's your biological child” Fiona sighed, "but this treatment is truly too different."

Sophia smiled, but she continued to listen to Fiona.

"Your young lady has been talking to me for a long time tonight, and she said she missed you and that
she will come back to the amusement park no matter what.I couldn't stand it any longer, so I brought
her back."



Sophia lifted Emma up and sat down on the sofa, feeling somewhat guilty in her heart as she said,
"When Mommy is free for a while, I'll take you to the amusement park to play"

Emma nodded and fell asleep quickly in her mother's arms.

Sophia returned to the sofa after settling Emma and stared at Fiona, who was still attempting to
assemble the jigsaw puzzle.

Sophia questioned, "Why are you suddenly playing this? Practicing your patience?"

Fiona nodded, "My colleague said that I have horrible temper management, so she came up with this
method to allow me to develop patience; otherwise, she said that she is really afraid that one day I will
lose control of my temper and fight with the supervisor"

"Did you run recently into trouble at work?" Sophia questioned her again.

Sophia took two ice-cold beverage cans from the refrigerator and handed one to Fiona.

"It's no trouble.Working for others has always been like this.

To be suppressed all the time is the norm now’ Fiona said while looking at Sophia then she added, "It
was clearly the fault of the two departments who were unable to communicate in time.The project also
had a fatal flaw in the first place, but when things went wrong, I became the scapegoat.Will you believe
me if I said that I was innocent?"

Sophia leaned against the sofa, one holding an iced drink and the other supporting her head while
leaning on the sofa.

Sophia replied, "I understand; the company has many major projects, and there are many things that
will inevitably happen"



"It's almost eleven, how many days can you rest?" Fiona asked as she sat up.

"I'm not sure; the Chief Research Department isn't like the Quality Control Department; there are so
many things to do that I feel like I need to have three more heads and six arms to keep up on the things
I should do every day"

Sophia was exhausted as well, but she realized that working in this industry was not that difficult at all.

"Okay, once it's my time to take a break, let's go on a trip together.I haven't left Frostford City this year,
and I'd like to improve my mood." Fiona chuckled.

Sophia nodded, "Then I'll ask my colleague how the company handles leaves for their employees in
previous years.After that, I'll give you a response when the time comes.Now that you mentioned it, I
suddenly want to go out and relax."

"Then it's settled." Fiona smiled.

The two of them chatted until midnight.

The next day, as Sophia got off the bus she accidentally sprained her ankle.It was all Fiona's fault.

She insisted that she should change into these high heels and dress this morning.She also claimed
that she always liked to wear short heels that did not look good on her.

She couldn't get used to wearing such high heels because she was used to wearing short heels.

It was the busiest time of day, and Evan Enterprise employees were rushing to work from all directions.
