“Hey, please stop crying.I know that you are a strong person, and you are the only person in the world
who treats me better than my mother"Kirstine's mood simply changed when Skyler mentioned the word
"mother."

"Alright, I'm just going to stay at Patrick's apartment for a while.It's not like I won't come back.Don't cry,
just imagine me going out on a field trip.I'll be back soon."

Skyler said as he reached out to wipe Kirstine's face and took out the things he had purchased for her
from the shopping bag.

"Didn't you say that you didn't like the cup-mat you bought last time? This time, I got you a new one
that's pink and soft, the same color as your room, and a few headbands since I noticed your usual ones
are too basic and clean.It's so wonderful to see you with a little color like this!"

Patrick smoked while sitting on the sofa.

"Kirstine, Skyler has truly grown up!" He said as he turned around.

Kirstine was a little flushed.

Despite the fact that she was uncomfortable in her heart, she forced herself to nod.

"Skyler has indeed matured.In the blink of an eye, he is about to graduate from college and is even in
love.Now, he has begun his internship and is going to work someday.Maybe it is time to let go."

She looked like she was talking to herself while simultaneously telling herself something.

The weekend began the following day.



Sophia returned home after waking up early and sending Emma to the kindergarten bus, and she
continued to sleep for a bit.

It was already late last night when Sophia and Fiona returned from the supermarket.She did not allow
Fiona to walk back alone at night because she was afraid she might be in danger.

They didn't have to go to work because there was no need to, so they slept in.

Sophia stared at the clock on the wall in a trance till the sun rose very high.

It was ten o'clock already.

Sophia had not slept in such a comfortable and lazy manner in a long time, and she had not moved
even when they were awake.

For a brief moment, Fiona woke up.She got out her phone when she noticed Sophia wasn't moving.

Whether she was looking through WhatsApp or sending text messages was unknown.

Her fingers slid nimbly across the phone's screen.

It was clear from the frequency that her typing pace was really quick.

What she saw was a mystery.

A stifled vibration emerged from her throat.

Sophia could tell that Fiona was holding back her laughter even if she closed her eyes.

Looking at the current circumstances, it was obvious that she had fallen in love.

It was only that she wasn't sure if that man was treating Fiona with sincerity.



Sophia was aware of everything that was happening in her head, but her awareness was blurred.

Until a harsh ringtone abruptly startled her, making her completely awake.

It was an unusual number, but it appeared to be a Frostford City local number.

She did not have a lot of contacts on her phone, so she knew the majority of the people she saved.

All of a sudden, a phone number that she did not recognize rang.

She had a strong suspicion that it was a pyramid scheme.She didn't answer the phone, but the other
party persisted and called again.

Sophia pressed the call button.

"Sophia, this is Kirstine, and today is the weekend.Is it convenient for you to come out and go shopping
with me?"

The other party said, in an elegant tone.

She remembered asking Kirstine after she left her shop that day if she was interested in accompanying
her out on a weekend.

Back then, Sophia absent-mindedly answered.

She simply assumed that Kirstine understood what she was saying, but she didn't anticipate that
Kirstine would actually ask her out.

Left with no choice, Sophia could only respond, "Okay..."

She was surprised to learn that Kirstine had requested her to meet at the Century Mall's department
store on South Ring Road, which she frequented.



The shopping mall appeared to be too regular for people like Kirstine.

They didn't pass by certain stores nor follow a path.

Sophia, of course, wouldn't say anything more now that Kirstine had brought it up.

After she said that she had something to do at the last minute, Fiona immediately understood her. If
you have something to do, you can leave quickly.I still have to stay in bed.Don't worry about me, I
promise that I won't starve myself.But you still have to bring some takeout food when you come back at
night."

"Good girl? Sophia said, smiling and reaching out to rub her unkempt hair.Sophia simply showered and
cleaned up before going out because this was the first time she would genuinely meet Kirstine in
private.It was over a half-hour before the agreed-upon time.

The waiting period was quite tedious.

Sophia just walked back and forth at the Century Mall's department store's entrance, waiting for
Kirstine.

Kirstine arrived around five minutes later.

She appeared to have arrived here in a special vehicle.

She turned back and muttered something to the driver when she got out of the car.

Sophia assumed that she told the driver to pick her up after a certain amount of time had passed by.

The content and development of this year's selection of great entrepreneurs were broadcast on a large
commercial screen across the street, and the most competitive contender among them would be
Patrick.



His picture flashed on the screen.

It appeared to be a photograph taken at the beginning of the year when he was interviewed by a

He leaned aside and looked out of the large French window in the photograph.His figure was

It was simple to be drawn to the entire picture because it was so delicate.She could not help but be
curious about the other males in the photo.

The entrepreneur selection festival was still going strong this year.

Of course, the most well-known was Mr.Evans of Frostford City, the CEO of Evans Enterprise Media
Group.

The snapshot was being played on the TV, which was being accompanied by the lovely voice of the
female announcer.

Kirstine, on the other hand, noticed Sophia's gaze on Patrick's image.

With a sweet smile on her lips, she approached Sophia.

Perhaps she spent the entire year in an upper-class social circle, making her voice seem graceful and
delicate, like a flower in spring water.

"If Patrick continues to be an excellent entrepreneur this year, he will win this award for the fifth year in
a row"

Sophia was not trying to disguise her interest right now.



"I really envy President Evans.He has a fantastic career and a wonderful love life" she added earnestly.

"There's no reason to be envious of him.For him to have reached this step was because of the
magnitude of the sacrifices he made and the effort he put in to succeed.No one saw him still holding a
video conference in the middle of the night to discuss improvement plans.No one saw him fly all over
the world for a big contract.He only slept for three hours a day, and no one saw him fall into sickness
because he didn't eat on time.I don't think people would be envious of him if they knew what he went
through just to achieve his current status"

"Also, do you honestly believe Patrick's relationship is going well? If it were, that woman would have
been his legal wife five years ago, not his fake fiancee."

Kirstine's words had two implications.She talked about Patrick's career efforts on the one hand, and his
current emotional state on the other.

Sophia was a little agitated.
