Sophia followed behind Patrick professionally and astutely.

Occasionally, she would hand over documents and sometimes take them from him.

After spending a long time in the General Manager Office, she would always hear her colleagues tease
Patrick for being a working machine.

Patrick talked to him for a while before he prepared to leave.He put the document in Sophia's hand and
said, "Let's go."

Sophia nodded, thinking that it was finally over.

On the road, only the two of them were left.He was in the front, and she had been behind him all the
time.

His footsteps were not fast, but she was far behind because her feet were sore and too painful.

Patrick seemed to ask her something.

But she was far away and could not hear him clearly.She wanted to take two steps forward to catch up,
but he turned around already.

He asked, "Are your shoes worn out?"

Sophia bit her lip.

"It doesn't matter.I can still walk."

"Yo, Patrick, this is the first time you brought your girlfriend over for a meal?" The woman asked.

Sophia was surprised.She called him Patrick.



Because they were familiar with each other, it was impossible that she did not know that he had a
fiancee.

Soon, the waitress came out with a tray, which contained two exquisite dishes of simple soup and rice.

"The madam here is lovely.You look good together with her, Patrick” the woman said with a smile as
she brought their food to the table.

Sophia was embarrassed, but Patrick introduced her, "This is my sister, Kirstine, and she is Sophia
Hill."

Sister? Patrick had a sister? She had known him for so many years, but she had never heard him
mention her.

"Hello, Miss Hill’ Kirstine greeted her politely.She swept a glance at Patrick with a look of understanding
in her heart.

Sophia recovered her composure quickly and politely said, "You don't have to call me Miss Hill, just call
me Sophia."

Patrick took the spoon and fork and handed them to Sophia.

"In a while, go to the room with my sister to clean your feet.The size of your shoes is similar to hers.Let
her find you a pair of comfortable shoes” Sophia was still hesitating when she heard Kirstine say, "It
doesn't matter, Sophia.It is my pleasure to help you, no need to thank me."

Just like that, she was brought upstairs to Kirstine's room.

Kirstine was a person with a gentle personality.

Kirstine's room was decorated in a very feminine manner.

The color theme was primarily pink.

"Sophia, you can sit anywhere you want.I'll bring the medicine box to you first, and then I'll find you a
pair of comfortable shoes" Kirstine said graciously.

Kirstine was busy, and Sophia felt embarrassed.

"What trouble? Patrick's friend is my friend.Besides, you are the first girlfriend he brought here for me
to see"

Kirstine said happily.

Sophia pretended not to understand the hint in Kirstine's words.

Kirstine should know that Patrick had an ex-wife and knew that it was her.

However, Kirstine was smart, and she was afraid that Sophia would be embarrassed, so she did not
pry into it.

"Maybe he is too busy to bring someone over" Sophia said.

complained.

"Put it on and see if it fits your feet; Kirstine said as she took a pair of slippers.It was a pair of white
slippers with no restraints around them.It looked comfortable to wear, and the size seemed fitting too.It



appeared that Kirstine had chosen the slippers properly.The label on the slippers hadn't been removed
yet.

It was a brand new one.

Kirstine saw that Sophia was hesitant to take it.

So she said, "Put it on.I have a lot of these.I usually buy a lot every month but I can't wear them all,
after all.I still have a lot of these in the cabinet that I haven't even worn just yet."

Unable to resist Kirstine's enthusiasm, Sophia thanked her and put it on.

Sophia got up and took tentative steps.She saw many photos hanging next to the cabinet.

They were all from Patrick when he was young.
