The woman's back gradually faded into the crowd in the packed store.

Her small figure was covered in white light from the ceiling, which reflected a soft and warm glow.

Patrick stood still, unable to resist the urge to take out his cigarette box and light up a cigarette.

However, he was stopped by the staff of the supermarket who said it was a smoke-free mall.

He smiled as he placed the cigarette box back.

The temptation of smoking was insignificant compared to the turmoil in his heart.

When Skyler returned, the shopping cart was nearly filled.

He was pleased that Kirstine would not accuse him of being ungrateful this time.

He only knew he had to get it for Skyler and had no idea that he was supposed to give it to her too.

He went out and got a lot of delicious foods for Kirstine.

"Patrick, is Sophia gone? She is my sister-in-law, right?" He asked.

He looked up and saw that there was no one around Patrick.

Patrick put his hands in his pockets as if he was happy with the term "sister-in-law, and his lips curved
into a smile.

"She just left." He answered.

Skyler smiled and hugged his brother as he walked forward.



"Do you want to know a secret, Patrick?" Patrick raised his brows and pulled Skyler's hand away from
him.

"What is it?" Skyler put his hands on Patrick's shoulders and pretended not to notice Patrick's
objection.

"Last time, I ran into Sophia at the hospital where I was interning.Her skin was having an allergic
reaction, so she went there for a check-up.I wanted to call you to inform you, but you didn't pick up"

Patrick lifted his brows and glanced at Skyler.Skyler understood that he was blaming his afterthought.

"But Patrick, I still have another secret about Sophia that I'd want to share with you.Do you want to
hear it?"

Skyler leaned in close to Patrick's ear and smiled.

"The last time your wife went to see the doctor, I took advantage of the opportunity to read her medical
records.One of the records said that she went to check her dysmenorrhea, and she told her doctor that
she hadn't had sex in the past five years.In other words, she had been alone for the past few years.You
know what I mean, right?"

"What else do you remember?" Patrick asked.

"I've already made a copy of it and I'll send it to your email later!’ Skyler said, with an expression that
said, "You do not need to worry." Patrick gave a steady nod.

Even if he was ecstatic in his heart, his expression was difficult to read.

Perhaps it was because he had spent the entire year in the corporate sector.

Even a pleasant smile became a rarity over time.He could not even recall the last time he had laughed.



Skyler walked behind Patrick after exiting the supermarket.

He carried two large shopping bags.

"Patrick, can't you help me carry these bags?" Skyler complained.

Patrick turned around and said, "The things that you carry are almost all yours and Kirstine"

Skyler mumbled, "Hey, I bought you a share this time"

Patrick softly smiled.

Occasionally, he felt that it was really good to have siblings.

He had an older sister who could look after him and a younger brother who could be fun to play with.

Although they were brothers and sisters of the same father and different mothers, it was good that they
did not become cold and distant because of this complication.

The black Rolls-Royce was parked in the parking space of the supermarket.

Patrick walked over, took out the key, unlocked the car, and opened the trunk.

Skyler used his leg to instantly put the shopping bag in.

"I swear I won't buy so many things in the future.I am literally draining energy right now.I'm so tired."

Skyler leaned in close to the vehicle.

He was gasping heavily.He did not exercise on a regular basis and had never done any manual labor,
which explained why his physical strength was so weak.



"Patrick, when can you help me to exercise so that I won't be embarrassed in front of Stacey when
we're in bed together? Otherwise, she'll complain that I don't have enough physical strength every time,
even though I can last for about forty minutes every time we do it.Do you think women are born to be
dissatisfied creatures?"

Skyler got a headache just thinking about his girlfriend, Stacey.

Stacey was extremely picky.She was particular not only when it came to clothing, but also when it
came to eating and walking.

Most significantly, she was always picky in bed.

Could he, as a man, tolerate her being picky all the time? Patrick taunted him.

He crossed his arms and said, "Are you sure it's really forty minutes?"

Skyler was about to open his mouth when he decided to draw the number three with his fingers
instead.

Skyler was a little embarrassed when he added, "Thirty minutes is already long enough, okay?"

"If you want your woman to be satisfied, there is only one way” Patrick said naughtily as he paused for
a while, "You have got to have a good figure with a perfect hundred points in physical strength"

"Patrick, how about I move into your apartment and exercise with you every day?" Skyler exclaimed
nonchalantly.

Patrick had the practice of exercising every day, which Skyler was aware of.

He would also run in the park early in the morning and late at night.



Despite the fact that he slacked off from time to time due to work, Skyler knew that even if Patrick did
not run, he would make time to go to the gym or swim.He was a very self-disciplined individual who
always exercised to keep his body in good shape.

Patrick had no objections and said, "No problem, you may stay if you like."

Skyler was taken aback.

Patrick, who had a severe case of mysophobia, was the last person he expected to give in to his
demands.

He simply could not believe it.

"Patrick, will I be the second person to enter your house?" Patrick shook his head in disapproval.

"No, you will be the third."

"Then who was the second one?"

Skyler asked without giving up.He was curious about it.

"Sophia’ Patrick found this word very easy to say.

Why couldn't he utter it before? Patrick closed the trunk and walked around the car with Skyler.

They were seated in the automobile, their seat belts fastened.

Patrick started the car, put it in reverse, and activated the clutch.He was a skilled driver.

Skyler sat in the passenger seat at the front.

He was still ecstatic that Patrick had agreed to live with him.



Patrick steered the wheel and drove smoothly down the road.

After driving for a while, Skyler looked out of the window and his attention was caught by a specific
figure.

"Isn't that Sophia? Why is she holding the hand of a child?"

Patrick frowned, but subconsciously slowed down.He noticed another woman strolling down the street,
holding the hand of a small child.He was far away and could not clearly see the little girl.

"Maybe she is her friend" Patrick responded blandly.

His beautiful brows were slightly entwined, and there was a faint worry between his eyes as if he was
deeply thinking about something.

"That little girl looks to be around four or five years old.She looks silly and cute!"

"Patrick, if you and Sophia's child had not been aborted, it should have been as old as that little girl
there right now.Time really flies fast"

Skyler's sentiments were well-founded.

Five years ago, the family had to deal with a lot of changes.

Because of a financial failure, their father, Thomas, committed suicide by jumping off a building and
died.

Skyler was a sixteen-year-old teenager at that time.

Patrick sent him to an elite school to study in isolation.

He was only allowed to return home once every six months.



The Evans family was not an established, honorable family.

Thomas had worked at Frostford City's government department when he was younger.

He did not want to interact with others because of his upright and stubborn demeanor.

In the end, he made the decision to leave his stable job and pursue a career in business.

However, because of the low economy, the global financial crisis not only affected the small and
medium-sized companies in Frostford City but also large companies like Thomas’, who had worked
