Chapter 398 The Afterlife

“Don’t worry, Mom. Our company will still be ours. It won’t fall to the hand of others. You don’t have to
worry about the details.” It’s just a phoenix that rose from the ashes.

With these words, Madam Hoyle was more relieved. She patted her son’s shoulder with relief, “Alan,
you’ve worked hard all these years.”

“It’s tolerable.” At least, they all survived. That girl was the one that accompanied him during his
darkest time. Her warmth alone was enough for him to withstand the hardship of five years.

“Tell me, what do you want me to do?” Since Finn was using all tricks to achieve his purpose, why
should she consider their past relationship? As she thought about both her husband and her trust in
him, she was extremely disappointed to the point that she didn’t feel any hatred in her heart.

“You don’t have to do anything now. Just act as usual, as if you still haven't been aware of anything.”
Alan was still being indifferent and his tone was still the same.

Madam Hoyle was taken aback for a moment, “Both of you especially came to meet me, aside from
letting know about these things, wasn’t it to let me accept both the women that you chose?”

“Mom, I beg you. Please don’t use the money to hurt people in the future. Don’t take the wrong
decision and hurt yourself instead.” Aoba muttered.

asleep or not.



A faint voice came from outside, “Ms. Ophelia, you’re back.”

Madam Hoyle suddenly became angry. She grabbed the cup on the coffee table and smashed it on the
floor, “Understand her? You must be dreaming. It’s lucky enough for me not to be irritated by her. Don’t
mention that woman’s name anymore.”

The teacup fell on Ophelia’s feet as she entered the door, which shocked her that she had to jump
back. Then, she felt the atmosphere of confrontation among those three people.

When Alan returned to the ward, the light was still turned on. His little wife read the book on the bed
before she fell asleep and the book fell under the bed.

He picked it up gently, put it on the table, took a shower, and then lied quietly behind her. He put his
arms on her waist and intertwined their fingers.

He was confident that everything would be fine again.

She rolled over slowly and rubbed against his neck. Her lazy tone softly came into his ears, “Husband,
you’re back.”

“Did I wake you up?”

“Wifey, should we hold our wedding at the Qixi Festival?” Although she was already Mrs. Hoyle, he still
wanted to see her as a bride in a wedding dress.

He said that what other women had, he would also give her more. It’s only a matter of time.

“Did you arrange it already?” She was resting in his arms.

it on the wedding day.”

second time at their wedding. Moreover, she didn’t know whether she would be able to invite his
mother or not. This was her worry. She didn’t want any flaws in her wedding.

“It’s only for one time. Usually, I always listen to you but this time, you have to follow my arrangement.
During this time, you can do whatever you want and whatever you love without having to worry about
anything. Enjoy your time while waiting to become a bride.” He wasn’t simply planning to do it, but he
wanted to do it grandly. He wanted to announce to everyone that he, Alan Hoyle, is married to Olive
Steele.

Olive smiled, “I’m not a bride anymore. I’m already an old bride.”

Alan took a bit on her shoulder out of his displeasure, “You’re speaking a foul language.”

“It hurts.” She flinched a bit.



“Then, I’ll be gentle.” He continued biting her lips, causing her to feel tickled. She wanted to avoid him,
but he held her tightly since he’s afraid that she would fall off the bed.

“Little girl…” He wants her, but he’s afraid of hurting her.

When she was rescued from the car, she was wounded all over her body, full of bruises and blood like
a broken doll that couldn’t move. He almost thought that he would lose her.

She whimpered in his arms, looked like in pain, before fainted after letting out a groan.

He desperately rushed her to the hospital. He drove through the suburbs to avoid the risk of brake
failure. But after the accident happened, the road to the hospital seemed to be so long.

Fortunately, she fainted because of the heavy blow on her head. And fortunately, the injury in her head
wasn’t as serious as he thought it would be.

She only stayed in the hospital for two days before making a commotion to be discharged, saying that
some bruises didn’t matter. But now, several days had passed. She still couldn’t raise her left arm and
her movements were restricted.

Sometimes when he caught her sweating because of the pain but still pretended that she’s fine, he
would be agitated.

When he held her to sleep at night, he also had to be extra cautious not to hurt her left arm.

“Mr. Hoyle. You couldn’t help it anymore.” She suddenly laughed lightly.

“Yeah” He vaguely let out a sound from his throat and didn’t dare to move anymore.

Olive turned around again and faced him. She was slightly shy and whispered, “Then, I’ll help you.”



Her voice was as small as a mosquito. But, he still could hear it clearly. The warm breath was blown
against his neck. He swallowed his saliva. It had become slightly unbearable. He could see, hold, and
touch her every day. But he couldn’t bump against her. It was really hard to do.

Olive laughed lightly, leaned against his chest, found a comfortable position, and slowly fell asleep.

Ophelia’s visit on the next day was slightly unexpected by Olive.

At that time, she was taking care of a pot of Devil’s Ivy. This pot of plant must be left by the previous
patient. When she found out about it, it was already wilted a bit. She had been taking care of it recently
when she was idle and bored and the new leaves grew.

Where there’s life, there’s also a tenacious side, as long as there’s a ray of life.

The sound of high heels on the floor made her looked back. When their eyes met, she was slightly
taken aback. Then, she returned to take care of her plant.

She figured out that Ophelia wouldn’t come for anything. What’s more, she wasn’t the one that’s in
need here. She didn’t need to speak first, the one behind would’ve taken the initiative to speak.

Ophelia snorted coldly, “You seem to be in a leisurely and carefree mood.”

“So what?” Olive smiled slightly and continued trimming the dead leaves.

“You are lucky that I didn’t crush you to death.”

Olive felt a vicious force behind her. She put the scissors down, put her hands inside the pocket of the
hospital gown casually, and turned around, “So, Ms. Ophelia, you’ve admitted that you did something to
my car.”



“So what? Do you any evidence?” Ophelia arrogantly provoked her, “Just like back then, when I asked
someone to kidnap you, so what? Even if everyone believes that I did it, I would still remain unpunished
by law as usual. Even if you told Alan that it was my doing, even if he said on the blog that the person
that harmed you should pay the price, but now I’m still standing perfectly in front of you. Do you know

leave.

win now, you will never lose? Don’t forget that Alan is still responsible for the Hoyle Group. That was
his father’s lifetime hard work. Daddy Hoyle was the one he respected the most. You think, when the
Hoyle Group is about to fall, will he choose you or his company?”

“You want to tell me the Hoyle Group is in trouble and your background as Ophelia Meyer is enough to
tide over the crisis, right?” Olive squinted slightly, there was a slightly cold breeze in her smile. Some
