Chapter 501: Every dog has its day

In the dark room, Ivy and Dave already began drinking, while Chloe was talking with Xenia during her
performance’s break.

As long as there was no hostility between women, it was actually easy to find a topic. You could even
discuss what nail polish you used on your fingers for a long time. The men were extremely bored, but
they were full of interest.

There were things men wouldn’t understand about women’s world. Just like in men’s world, there were
things women didn’t understand.

Olive and Alan entered. Dave still had the same personality, a rough man with loud voice. “We said to
meet on half past seven and it’s almost eight now. President Hoyle, shouldn’t you be punished with a
glass of beer?”

Alan laughed and sat down next to Olive, undoubtedly leaning a bit to block someone’s sight from his
wife.

“I thought you would ask me to drink for congratulation first.”

Dave laughed out loud. He was overjoyed at the mention of that. “There’ll be your share too. It’ll be on
the early date next month. Sorry that I skip you. You have to gift me and Xenia one large red envelope.
I won’t accept it if it’s any less.”

Alan smiled, “Doesn’t matter. When it’s my and Olive’s wedding day, you have to give it back anyway.
You can give me more, but not lesser. So, either way, I don’t have loss.”

Dave deeply glared at him, “Thank goodness you’re a big boss. Do you have to act so stingy towards
unimportant people like us? I’ll tell you, when it’s the day of your wedding with Olive, I’ll bring my wife
and son to eat a lot. You can’t get poor anyway.”



Xenia glared at him, “Daughter.”

Dave surrendered, “Okay, okay. It’s a daughter, a daughter. Don’t get angry.”

Actually, he didn’t care about the gender. He just wanted an older brother first, so that he could protect
his little sister later. What a good thing to have both son and daughter. But the pregnant woman had a

Dave pulled Alan aside and whispered in a low voice, “Hoyle, you’re so lucky. You can avoid just like

wanted to ask you if your woman was so brutal and unreasonable too when she was pregnant. But you

Alan finally understood that this man didn’t come for him to complain, but to show off.

Dave said these words very quietly, but somehow they were heard clearly by Xenia. She twisted
Dave’s ear and said, “Who is being unreasonable?”

Dave immediately raised his hand and surrendered, “I am, I am. I’m unreasonable. Honey, be gentle.
You can’t be this violent. You have to set a good example for the kid in your belly.”

Olive chuckled, “Every dog has its day, doesn't it?”

“This can also be called someone’s retribution,” Chloe said.



Dave rubbed his red ears and glared at them angrily, “You old hags. It’s no wonder our ancestors would
say that it’s better to offend a villain than a woman.”

“Don’t forget that your wife is a woman,” Olive laughed and reminded him.

At this moment, the door was opened and Colbert’s head poked inside, “Chloe, there’s someone
outside claims to be your friend and is looking for you.”

“Who?” Chloe asked.

curly hair, but she has a foreign accent.”

“Susan.” Both Chloe and Olive unconsciously said out the name. Apart from this person, they couldn’t
think of anyone else.

Dave said, “Since she’s a friend, let her come in and join us.”

Chloe laughed and got up, wiggling her eyebrows on purpose. “She’s a beautiful woman. You’re not
afraid Xenia will get jealous?”

Dave snorted, “Annoying brat. I’m an upright man. Others women are nothing in my eyes.”

“Xenia isn’t the only one who hears that. We all hear it clearly. If one day you dare to do something
sorry to Xenia, be careful of us from cutting your life.” Chloe made a knife gesture, then walked out of
the private room.



Dave sighed, “How is she a woman? She’s a devil. President Hoyle, I think you have to remind your
little brother to be careful. Such a fierce lady. Can your brother control her?”

“You’re not allowed to say bad words at Chloe,” Xenia snorted and then kicked him.

Dave rubbed his calf, “I’m just saying the truth.”

Alan chuckled, “It’s not about who controls who in a man and woman’s relationship, but in the bond
between their hearts.”

Xenia kicked Dave again, “Look at him. He’s much wiser than you.”

Susan was sitting at a place closest to the stage. Chloe saw her presence in a glance.

Ever since Olive said that she might be a fake, she looked at this woman with a layer of complicated
scrutiny. But Olive said that it wasn’t suitable to alarm her right now, so she had to keep quiet.

“Susan, you came.”

“Chloe, your band members are all handsome.” Susan’s eyes released a light of seeing beautiful
things.

“Ha, who catches your eyes? If you’re interested in younger man, I can introduce you guys. They’re all
single teenagers who are in their prime,” Chloe said brashly.

“Don’t tease me. I’m not interested with younger man. I’m here for you not for you to be a matchmaker.
I came to cheer for you.” Susan came because of Chloe’s invitation.

“Don’t worry. There’ll be opportunities in the future. Let me introduce you to my friends first,” Chloe said
and pulled her hand.

Susan was slightly surprised seeing Olive and Alan. “Alan, Olive, you guys are here too.”



“I won’t introduce you guys anymore because you guys already knew each other. This melancholic
handsome guy is Ivy Aldington, the owner of this bar. This dark-skinned rough man is Dave Chou. Next
to him is his baby wife, Xenia,” Chloe introduced her one by one.

“Hello, my name is Susan. I just arrived in Luo City. Please take care of me,” Susan introduced herself.

Dave squinted his eyes and examined her, “I just heard from Hoyle, that what? Olive’s boss, Norton
Geve’s daughter who just be found. Seriously? You flew across the sea, huh.”

Susan smiled and said, “I was also very surprised. I didn’t expect that this time I came to Luo City
would meet my biological parents. Maybe this is God’s plan.”

“Hey, Olive. You’ve run to some places too. Why aren’t you as lucky as her meeting your biological
parents?”

Dave’s words surprised Susan. “Olive, are you also an adopted child?”

arranged few of the glasses and grabbed several beers from the cabinet. He poured each glass full.
“Come. We’ve introduced ourselves and are friends now. Let’s drink together.”

“But I don’t know how to drink.” Susah looked frightened.

“No one is born knowing how to drink. Don’t worry, no one will bully you if you’re drunk in this place.”
Chloe took a glass and shoved it into her hand, secretly winking at Olive.

Olive smiled, “Yes. It’s okay to drink a little. We’re all heavy drinkers, but you can drink as little as you
can so long you’re happy.”

“And you should try our handsome boss’s specialty.” Chloe put her arm around Ivy’s shoulders.



“What?” Susan asked curiously, looking at the man who was sitting in the corner and didn’t talk much. It
was like she hadn’t seen him speak since she came in.

“You’ll know soon.” Chloe pushed the bartending utensils, ingredients, and ice to Ivy.

Ivy’s hands were very fast with some stunts juggling. Susan was dizzy for a moment, only seeing as if
the bottle had its own hands and feet, coming alive.

Before she could snap out of it, a five-color cocktail with red flame was pushed to her.

“Wow. This is beautiful,” Susan couldn’t help exclaiming. She didn’t know if it was his skill or the
cocktail itself, but either way, it showed her amazement at the moment.

Ivy faintly smiled, “If there’s something you’re not satisfied it, just mention it.”

“You’re amazing.” Susan gave him a thumb up. When the flame went out, she touched the rim of the
cup and thought it would be hot, but found that it was cold. She took a sip, “It’s a bit sweet and it smells
good.”

But shortly after drinking such a small glass, she felt herself floating and leaned on the sofa, wanting to
sleep.

Chloe stared at her face flushed and drunk. She laughed, “Seriously? It’s just one glass. Not that
serious, right?”

Olive went over and patted Susan on the back. Her fingers lightly twirled at his hair. “Are you okay?”

“A bit dizzy.” Susan rubbed her temples with her hands, trying to wake herself up.

“Don’t worry. We’ll send you back later.”
