Genevieve quickly shifted her gaze away from Bruce and shot Cooper a sheepish smile. “What a
coincidence, Coop! What are you doing here with Bruce?”

Genevieve added, “That’s right. Since it was an indoor venue and was very crowded, the air circulation
wasn’t all that great. Anyway, it’s getting late, so you should head home. I’ll get going too. Bye!”

performance is on in there today?”

“We shouldn’t be standing and talking here in the corridor. Let’s go home first.”

Once they were outside the club, Cooper looked at Genevieve and asked, “Did you drive here?”

“Yes,” she replied. Not wanting to continue getting reprimanded by Cooper, she could not help wishing
he would quickly leave with Jane. “You guys should head back. I’ll get a replacement driver.”

Suddenly, Bruce appeared behind hier: “No need for that. I’ll drive.”



“Oh, that’s quite all right. You should go back in your minivan,” Genevieve replied. She had no desire to
be alone with him. Moreover, with Cooper around, she was afraid he would end up berating Bruce.

when you get hoine.”
