Almost half an hour had passed when Leon finally called back.

Rosalie got on the phone almost as soon as the phone lit up and asked urgently, “How is it, Senior?”

Leon’s voice sounded a little dignified. “The conversation was going well but as soon as I mentioned
your research institute, the other party’s attitude took a 180-degree turn.”

Hearing this, the look in Rosalie’s eyes darkened as the corners of her lips pulled into a bitter arc. “I
understand. Sorry for troubling you. You don’t have to get involved in this matter again. I’ll figure out a
way myself.”

She was afraid that if Leon helped her again, the other party would sense something fishy and target
him along with her.

After she spoke, she heard Leon ask all of a sudden, “ What’s going on between you and President
Lawrence? He did this, right?”

Rosalie could not help but be stunned.

Byron? what reasons did he have to do this?

Besides, where did Leon get this conclusion?

The thought of that question had Rosalie ask him, “ Why would you say that? What does this incident
have to do with Byron?”

Leon frowned. “You must have noticed it by now. Someone is targeting you.”

Rosalie replied, “I know, but… I can’t think of a reason why Byron would do this.”



“I asked about it before. It was Lawrence Corporation who secretly relayed an ultimatum to all major
medicinal materials suppliers in Coast City. If anyone dares to cooperate with you, they’re going
against Lawrence Corporation,” Leon replied in a deep voice.

Upon hearing all this, Rosalie’s eyes flashed with shock.

On the side, Yves overheard the conversation too. His eyebrows twitched tightly.

It was Lawrence Corporation who was behind this all along? However, when did they have anything to
do with them?

No, accurately speaking, when did Rosalie even get involved with Lawrence Corporation, so much so
that they had to spend so much effort to go against her?

Yves suddenly thought of Wendy.

Until today, he had no idea what was going on between Rosalie and that woman up until the point
where she had to target them.

If he remembered correctly, President Fuller was Byron’s fiancee, and this was already made known to

Yves just could not get everything to add up.

On the other hand, Rosalie already had a vague guess and explained softly to Leon, “No, it’s not
Byron.”

Leon’s expression was dignified, “who else could it be, then?”



“That’s not important anymore.” Rosalie lowered her gaze and bit her lower lip in bitterness. “Senior, it’s
better that you don’t get involved in this matter anymore. This is considered my personal matter. I
already feel guilty about dragging the research institute into this. I don’t want it to affect you too.”

Leon was silent for a few seconds and confirmed with her. “If so, do you already know who’s behind all
this? I won’t get involved, but you should at least tell me if they’ll harm you.”

Rosalie thought for a few seconds and answered seriously, “The other party must be thinking of kicking
me out of Coast city, hence why they aimed a the research institute. Don’t worry, the worst that can
happen is that I’ll leave. Without me, the research institute’s situation will eventually improve on its
own.”

Leon frowned slightly but agreed anyway.

When she hung up, Melody’s expressionless face was floating in Rosalie’s mind.

Apart from her, there were no other people in Lawrence Corporation who would target her like this.

After learning the inside story, Rosalie frowned tightly.

What had happened during this time? Why did Melody suddenly take action?
