No Choice But To Distance Myself From You

After hearing what Rosalie said, Byron frowned slightly and lowered his gaze to look at Estie.

Estie lowered her head pitifully, she tightened her grip on his hand. Evidently, she was feeling anxious.

Rosalie looked in the direction of his gaze and noticed the disappointed expression on Estie’s face. Her
heart softened at once.

In the past, Estie always looked overjoyed to see her. However, she seemed extremely cautious today,
she did not dare to approach her as well.

Rosalie guessed that it must be because she had tried to make Estie distance herself from her by
telling her that she would be leaving the country soon.

Lucian and Nox would always mention Estie after returning home nowadays.

Estie must miss her a lot.

With this thought in mind, Rosalie let out a silent sigh. She bent down to caress Estie’s head, she then
comforted her gently, “I just don’t want you to worry. I’m fine. Look, I’m alright, aren’t I?”

After sensing Rosalie’s soft palm on her head, Estie raised her head hesitantly, she pursed her lips and
stared at her cautiously.

A genuine smile grew on Rosalie’s face when she met Estie’s gaze.

Estie gradually smiled. However, she still did not dare to approach her.

Lucian and Nox had waited for a while, but Rosalie had yet to return to the dining table. They walked to
the door curiously to take a look.



They exchanged gazes when they saw Byron and Estie standing by the door. Their faces were full of
confusion.

They were glad that Estie was here to visit, but they did not want their daddy to be here at all.

The children did not know how to face them when they saw both Byron and Estie arriving together.

“Mommy.” The children walked over to their mommy’s side after hesitating for a while.

Rosalie turned around to look at her children. “Have you finished eating?”

The children nodded obediently and smiled at Estie. They then raised their gazes to look at Byron in a
guarded manner. “Uncle, why did you come to look for Mommy?”

Byron frowned slightly and said in a low voice, “It’s nothing. Estie wanted to come over.”

Estie nodded in agreement. There was a pitiful gaze in her wide eyes as she stared at Lucian and Nox.

She could sense that Lucian and Nox did not like her daddy. She did not like that. She wished that they
could be just like her. She liked Auntie, and she liked her daddy as well.

Lucian and Nox frowned after meeting Estie’s pitiful gaze. They then slowly closed their mouths.

Rosalie lowered her gaze to look at Estie again. “Have you eaten, Estie? Do you want to eat some food
with me?”

Estie nodded happily with all her might after Rosalie invited her in to have breakfast with her.



Rosalie smiled and caressed Estie’s head when she saw how overjoyed she was. She then reached
out her hand to her.

An odd gaze flashed across Byron’s eyes. He released Estie’s hand at once and followed them both
into the living room.

Lucian and Nox had already finished their breakfast. They sat down in the living room and waited for
their mommy to finish having breakfast with Estie. At the same time, they stared at Byron.

Byron sensed the children’s vigilant gazes. He felt extremely exasperated, but he did not show them
any reaction. He simply let them keep their eyes on him.

Estie had already had breakfast, she just wanted to stay with Rosalie a little longer.

Estie stared at Rosalie from time to time while she was eating. Estie took some food for her when she
noticed Rosalie’s pale complexion.

The children took turns looking after Rosalie in the morning, she felt extremely glad but also terribly
guilty.

Estie liked her a lot, but she had to distance herself from her because of Byron…
