“350?” Xu Baigen was taken aback a little. “Big little sister, don’t you think that’s a bit low?”
A position on the market went for around 500 yuan. Some better ones could go as high as 800 to over 1,000. Stevedore was hard work with little pay but could still at least go for 400 yuan.
Zhou Fang nodded as well. “I don’t think you are familiar with how much they can fetch, big little sister. Last time someone sold it for 415 yuan.”
Tong Xuelu was even happier when she saw how honest this couple was. “I know but I have also heard from Jiaming that Brother Xu and Sister Zhou Fang had helped a lot after my parents’ accident. How was it that not only did they not get into a fight but they looked so chummy with each other?

Tong Jiaxin was working on his homework. Gnawing on his pencil, he looked very disturbed.

Tong Jiaming walked out to where the stove was and asked her in a low voice. “Why did you lie earlier?”
Tong Xuelu placed the cover over the pot, stood u, and looked at him. “You mean when I said that grandma had gone crazy?”
Tong Jiaming nodded.
“For you, of course!” said Tong Xuelu. “If I didn’t say that, your lie wouldn’t hold water when they come!”
The child who cries will get milk.
She would never hide favors that she had done for others.
Tong Jiaming frowned. “But your lie will hold water?”
