Commander Xiao snickered. “Bull! All you did was whimpered a couple of times next to me. Had your name not be similar to my granddaughter’s grandmother and you happened to be born on the same day, you really think I would still take you as my god granddaughter?
“That being said, I am not ungrateful person. You did whimper a couple of times. That was the only reason that I have having Xiao Yang take you to your unit right now instead of the police station!”

Yang Gaojie was scared as well but he felt oddly redeemed when he saw Sun Manrou looking like her father had died.
Xiao Yang closed the car door and drove away with the two of them in his car.

Old Mr. Wen, “Xiao Zong, who’s that old man behind Xuelu?”
Uncle Zong widened his eyes to take a closer look. “Commander, he looked sort of like Commander Xiao from the Northwestern region.”
Uncle Zong had met Commander Xiao once or twice in the past. As such, he was able to recognize him with a careful look.
Old Mr. Wen frowned. “What is he doing here? And with Xuelu? Hurry up. Let’s walk over to them.”
Old Mr. Wen worried that something bad would happen to Tong Xuelu and quickly walked up to her with Uncle Zong.
The two looked so aggressive that anyone who didn’t know better would think that they were ready to jump into a fight.
Old Mr. Wen dashed in front of Tong Xuelu, looked her up and down and asked caringly, “Child, are you alright?”
“I’m fine, Grandpa Wen.” Tong Xuelu shook her head before pointed at Commander Xiao and said, “Commander Xiao here claimed to be my grandfather. So I thought I’d take him here to get it sorted out.”
Both Old Mr. Wen and Uncle Zong’s widened when they heard that.
Commander Xiao’s eyes, too, widened to size of a frog. “Child, are you telling me that your boyfriend is the grandson of this stubborn old man?”
Commander Xiao was too angry to catch anything when the others were discussing about Wen Rugui earlier. Now that he saw Old Mr. Wen, he was so shocked that his eyes could pop out of his socket.
Old Mr. Wen was so angry that his beard shook. “Watch what you are saying, Old Stubborn! And stop spewing nonsense here. You have been single your entire life. How could you have a granddaughter?!”
Commander Xiao, “Whether I have been married or not is none of your business.”
Tong Xuelu, “It’s very cold outside. Can we take this fight indoor?”
Commander Xiao quickly stopped the argument and nodded repeatedly. “Yes, yes. We should hurry inside. You are a girl. We wouldn’t want you to catch a cold.”
His words taken from him, Old Mr. Wen’s beard shook again from anger. “Xuelu, I’ve asked Xiao Zong to have brown sugar and ginger soup prepared for you. Let’s hurry up and have some.”
Tong Xuelu smiled and said, “Thank you, Grandpa Wen.”
Old Mr. Wen felt better instantly. He gave Commander Xiao a complacent look.
Commander Xiao was not too happy, “……”
Once they were indoor, Old Mr. Wen had Uncle Zong brought a bowl of brown sugar and ginger soup to Tong Xuelu.
