The man who mocked her blushed, turned away, and said nothing else.
Upper management arrived shortly after everyone chatted for a little while.
After Minister Lin summarized the meeting, he recalled the one-month bet.
“Is Manager Tong from the City Nan branch here today?”
Tong Xuelu stood up and said, “Hi, Minister Lin.”

Tong Xuelu then handed over her summary and performance report.
Minister Lin flipped through it a little bit and his eyes lit up.
He had received many summary reports in the past but they were all like dog poops. Never mind that it was illogical, it made completely no sense at all.
The one that Tong Xuelu had submitted, however, was logical and everything was tracked in tables and was easy to follow.
Not bad. Comrade Tong surely was a very competent individual!

Zhou Yan had been complacent since his return.
That disturbed Huang Qimin and he asked, “Poopoo Head Zhou, why are you already up to no good at this early hour?”
Zhou Yan swung at him. “Dog Egg Huang, you better watch it if you ever call me Poopoo Head Zhou again!”
Huang Qimin chuckled and said, “I wasn’t the one who went back on my words. So? What happened to you anyway. You are short of smiling from ear to ear!”
Zhou Yan pulled out a small portrait photo from the pocket on his shirt. He smiled as he looked at it. “My girlfriend sent me a photo. From now on, I will be able to see her face every day!”
Huang Qimin stuck his lips out a little. “Tsk. What’s the big deal about that? I’ve had my girlfriend’s photo for forever.”
Wen Rugui blinked and did not utter a word.
He didn’t have one. He had lost.
Zhou Yan immediately noticed that something was off with Wen Rugui. He laughed at him and said, “Rugui, do you have a photo of your girlfriend?”
Wen Rugui, “No, I don’t.”
“Ahahahaha, I knew it.” Zhou Yan was not being nice at all.
Even Huang Qimin felt that they had finally come out ahead for once.
Finally, he had bettered Wen Rugui in some area.
Wen Rugui was even more quiet than usual over that lunch.
He went straight to the Dean’s office after his lunch break.
When Dean Zhuang Zhenghui saw him, he looked up and said, “You want to take time off to visit your girlfriend?”
Wen Rugui’s ears turned a little red. “Yes.”
Zhuang Zhenghui chuckled and said, “To think that I was worried that you would be single for life. I guess I worried about nothing.”
Wen Rugui did not make a sound but the thought of Tong Xuelu made his eyes look tender.
He had a much more human touch than he used to now.
Dean Zhuang was very pleased when he saw that.
Another single man down at the base. What wonderful news that was.
Wen Rugui wanted to give Tong Xuelu a surprise so he didn’t give her a call ahead of time.
Truth was, he wouldn’t know where to call even if he had wanted to. The Tong family did not have a phone, nor was there one at the restaurant.
