Chapter 433 - Commander Xiao was so angry that his face turned green. (4)
The technique to barbequing is not difficult. Everybody picked it up after Tong Xuelu had demonstrated it a few times.
When there was a large group of people, the barbeque went quickly.
Old Mr. Wen, knowing on Xiao Ba’s chicken thigh, nodded in content, “Xuelu’s cooking is always so amazing!”
Commander Xiao said complacently, “Of course. She’s my granddaughter!”
Old Mr. Wen snickered, “Pooey, you are just a half-ass grandpa. What you so proud of, eh?”
Commander Xiao said angrily, “You old stubborn. You can stop eating my food!”
Old Mr. Wen, “Xuelu made them for me. You didn’t make them!”
Commander Xiao’s eyes were rounded from anger. “……”
Fang Jingyuan, her lips covered in grease, said, “Xuelu, why is it that everything you make is so tasty? How I wish you are a man!” She would love to marry her.
Tong Xuelu, “No way I am marrying you if I am a man.”
Fang Jingyuan shouted out, “Why not? Am I not pretty enough or not tender enough?”
Tong Xuelu, “I worry that you will kill me with you fart after having yam.”
Fang Jingyuan, “……” Just why did she have to go tell Tong Xuelu about this last time?
After she was done talked, Tong Xuelu noticed Wen Rugui looking at her and she gave him one of the chicken wing that she made.
When she leaned over, she took the opportunity to whisper into his ear. “I’ll marry you if I am a man.”
If she was a man, she would hold Wen Rugui under her body and bully him.
Wen Rugui’s eyelashes fluttered and the tips of his ears turned red instantly.
Everybody were chatting and laughing in the yard and the kids were chasing each other around. The young people on this side talked about their hopes for their future and the elderlies recounted how difficult life had been for them back in the days.
Children, young adults, and elderlies all getting together, forming into their own group but were also harmonious together.
The barbeque event lasted all the way to 8 o’clock.
Jiao Boshan regained his freedom before New Year and could now go in and out of the base freely. They purchased a house inside the city limit close to Zhong Shulan’s family.
Jiao Yunshi didn’t live very far from Jiang Danhung and it was the same direction as Pu Jianyi’s place.
Pu Jianyi suggested, “I should accompany the two female comrades on their way home.”
Jiang Danhung gave him a look when she heard that but didn’t say anything.
Jiao Yunshi knew that Jiang Danhung had some issues with Pu Jianyi but she also knew that he was not a bad person.
Now that he had suggested to talk them home, it would not be nice if neither one of them replied to him.
As such, she looked up and smiled at him. “Why, thank you so much, Comrade Pu.”
Pu Jianyi’s heart throbbed when he saw her smile. “No, no problem at all!”
Look at that bright smile on her when she heard that he was going to walk her home. Did that mean she, too, was fond of him?
Wen Rugui’s family was also in the direction of the military compound. As such, they would accompany Fang Jingyuan back.
After everybody was gone, Tong Xuelu started heating up water for the siblings to bathe. She then carried Tong Mianmian, who could barely keep her eyes open, onto the bed.
After being busy for the entire day, Tong Xuelu also turned in quickly after she had bathed.
Commander Xiao woke up suddenly in the middle of the night.
He worried that his grandsons would kick over the blanket at night and catch a cold, so he walked over to their room to check on them.
Lo and behold, he saw Tong Jiaxin with his butt hanging outside his blanket.
He shook his head and walked over. He was just about to bend down to pull the blanket over Tong Jiaxin when he heard a “poof” and a gust of air headed straight toward his nose.

The gust of air turned Commander Xiao’s face green!
Commander Xiao stood back straight. This was his real grandson, real grandson, real grandson. He kept reminding himself.
Soon as he had finished his pep talk to himself, Tong Jiaxin farted twice more.
Tong Jiaxin ate a lot tonight, including one or two yams. That smell…… was truly indescribably.
Commander Xiao smacked him hard on his butt, pull the blanket over him, and dashed.
Had he stayed any longer, the smell might just kill him.
