Chapter 366

Chapter 366 - Tong Jiaxin regretted for the 1,001 times in the dark. (3)
When Tong Xuelu returned home that night, Tong Jiaxin had already finished all of the housework.
After he regretted his decision, he even went on strike for a day.
Tong Xuelu told him that she’d ship him back to their hometown of Beihe and the naughty child was scared pale.
He got up docilely the next morning to take care of the housework again. After the few days of “torture”, the naughty child looked very disheveled and he lost a an entire size on his cheeks.
After dishes were done, Tong Jiaming brought Tong Mianmian with him to study in the study.
Tong Jiaxin walked over awkwardly to Tong Xuelu and called out to her awkwardly.
Tong Xuelu looked up from her proposal, “What’s the matter? Spill.”
Tong Jiaxin twisted his fingers together and tapped the floor with the tip of his toes. “Big Sister, I know I was wrong. Please let me go back to school. I promise I will study hard.”
Tong Xuelu raised her brows slightly. “And just why should I believe you? What if you can’t keep your words?”
Tong Jiaxin was taken aback a little, his brows furrowed. “I promise I will do that. If I fail to keep my words, you will take the meats away from me!”
Tong Xuelu shook her head. “That’s just back to how we had it before. Why don’t we do this. I’ll let you go back to school, but if you fail your final examinations this time, you will be going back to Beihe.”
Tong Jiaxin, “……”
Tong Xuelu, “Are you backpaddling now? You sounded quite confident just a little while ago. Or were you just lying to get me to let you go back to school so that you can goof off again?”
Tong Jiaxin said loudly, “I am not! I genuinely worried that I will fail even if I try very hard!”
Tong Xuelu, “Your class teacher said you are very smart. You just didn’t have your mind on studying. Besides, how will you know if you have never tried? Only useless people will keep on looking for excuses for themselves.”
Tong Jiaxin was stimulated by her words. “Alright, I’ll take you up on it. If I fail the final examination, I will head back to Beihe!”
Tong Xuelu tore out a page from her notebook, wrote their dare down on the piece of paper, and had him sign his name on it.
Tong Jiaxin merely shouted out at the heat of the moment. Now that he had to sign something officially, his heart pounded nonstop.
He had, however, already passed the point of no return. He knew that his sister was serious. If he didn’t sign this, she just might send him back tomorrow.
The thought of those back in their hometown made him shuddered.
He gritted his teeth, grabbed the pen, and signed.
Tong Xuelu folded up their “dare” and shoved it inside her notebook expressionlessly. “Alright, it is officially effect as of this moment. I will go and plead with your teacher and the principal to let you return to school tomorrow. Whether you can return or not will depend on your luck.”
Those words made Tong Jiaxin nervous all over again.
What if the school wouldn’t let him go back?
The class teacher for certain would not speak up for him. He had always chatted in the classroom, failed all of his examinations, and he even cheated on his last one.
The more he thought about, the more he realized how awful he had been. Tong Jiaxin wanted to slap himself across his own cheeks.
Tong Xuelu ignored him and returned to her proposal.
Tong Jiaxin was still thinking about school when he went to bed that night.
He tossed and turned like a pancake on a grill all night long and kept Tong Jiaming awake with him.
“What is up with you?”
Tong Jiaxin, “Second Brother, I just might get send back to our hometown Beihe.”
Tong Jiaming rolled over and hid the smile on him from Tong Jiaxin. “Well, you don’t want to go to school, right? So collecting pig poops isn’t a bad idea. You can at least trade that in for food.”
Tong Jiaxin, “……” Second Brother, you don’t love me anymore!
There was more that Tong Jiaxin wanted to say but Tong Jiaxin told him that he needed to go to school the next day and ignored him.
Tong Jiaxin stared at the dark ceiling and wiped away his tears.
He was a swine. Why would he think that going to school was such a horrible deal in the past?
Tong Jiaxin regretted for the 1,001 times in the dark.
