He felt that the two of them were sitting so close to together that she could hear his heartbeat!

He had heard Zhou Yan and Huang Qimin mentioned getting snacks for movies in the past. But weren’t they supposed to be focused on the movie inside the theater?
Seeing how focused he was on the movie, Tong Xuelu thought to herself that people from this era was so simple.
If it was the modern times, when two new lovers to into a theater, for certain the boy would try everything he could to hold the girl’s hand.
Tong Xuelu’s eyes rolled around and she reached her hand over to the bag.
She ran the tip of her finger over his palm when she grabbed the candy.
Wen Rugui’s body stiffened. Was that an accident or did Comrade Tong did that on purpose?
If she had done that on purpose, he didn’t mind that at all. In fact, he secretly hoped that she would do that some more.
Realizing his own thoughts, he scolded himself in his mind.

Seeing that she did not make another move, Wen Rugui couldn’t tell whether he felt relieved or was disappointed.
He had no idea what was in the movie for the remainder of the time.
It was already noon when the two left the theater. They went to a government-operated restaurant for lunch.
This was not the same government-operated restaurant that she worked at. Basically all the government-operated restaurant in this era got the same name.
After lunch, Wen Rugui brought her to a park nearby on the bicycle.
The two were good looking and riding a bicycle. They received a lot of envious look on their way.
The two sat down on a long bench at the park.
Wen Rugui even thoughtfully pulled out a handkerchief and placed it on the bench before she sat down.
The fall in capital city was too beautiful.
The blue sky looked like it had been rinsed. The gingko was a golden color and the maple a fiery red. Basking in the sun, one would only want to nap or space out.
Tong Xuelu suddenly recalled something that she had been wanting to ask for a while. “Oh right, why is the name of the chicken that you gave me Little Six?”
Wen Rugui recalled his grandfather’s shouting. “That was the 6th chicken that we got.”
Tong Xuelu raised her brows. “Didn’t you tell me last time that you got the chicken from a friend?”

He had screwed up!

Wen Rugui changed colors a little on his face but he then told her the entire truth.
After he was done, Tong Xuelu had laughed so hard that her jaw was sore. “So you are telling me that you’ve stole your grandfather’s chicken to give to me?”
Wen Rugui nodded stiffly.
Tong Xuelu wiped away the tears from the corners of her eyes and said, “And your grandfather didn’t give you a beating?”
Wen Rugui shook his head. “Grandpa likes your cooking a lot. He said they are very tasty. He now has Little Seven and Little Eight. His plan is to have your stew then after they are all grown up.”
Tong Xuelu, “HAHAHAHAHA…… your grandfather is too funny!”
A slight breeze came and he could smell the fresh scent from her.
Much like grass, or some sort of flowers. It was there and then it was not. It made his heart pound every time.
Seeing her bright smell, Wen Rugui felt that something had filled his chest.
It took a while before Tong Xuelu was finally able to stop laughing. She suddenly recalled the fried leek dumpling that she had made him previously.
“Oh, right. Did you like the fried leek dumplings that I made for you last time?”
Wen Rugui nodded, “Yes, they are very tasty.”
Tong Xuelu cocked her head and looked at him. “Did you not worried about your breath when you have someone with such strong odor?”
Wen Rugui stiffened a little, then said, “It was no problem. I just had to rinse my mouth out a few times.”
Tong Xuelu chuckled again.
Truth was, she didn’t make that on purpose but she had very limited ingredients at the time. It had only occurred to her after he had taken off.
In hindsight, it all worked out.
His breath would keep the other women away from him.
