A little over a week later, the phone had finally been installed at the restaurant.
Tong Xuelu gave Wen Rugui a call right away.
After exchanging some tidbits about themselves, Tong Xuelu suddenly said, “Are there any one near you, dear?”
Wen Rugui’s heart throbbed when he heard her calling him “dear.” No, why?”

Tong Xuelu pulled out Tong Mianmian’s padded jacket and dressed her into a ball.
Tong Mianmian struggled to climb down from the bed to go brush her teeth and wash her face.

Tong Xuelu headed over to the kitchen to make wonton after she was done washing up.
She had pre-made the wonton the night before. All she needed to do was the cook them now.
The wontons cooked quickly. Tong Xuelu scooped out 4 bowls. Tong Jiaming and Tong Jiaxin had already been waiting in the kitchen. The aroma made their stomachs growled.
Now that the wontons were ready, they quickly carry them into the living room.
The wonton wrap that Tong Xuelu made were thick and her wontons were filled with pork, mushrooms, and black fungi. She also added some lard into the soup. With the bright green spring onions floating on top of the bowl, they looked very appetizing.
Tong Jiaxin didn’t care how hot it was and quickly sucked down a wonton. He cried out loud from the heat but still refused to spit the wonton back out.
The wood ear was crunchy and a good complement to the aromatic mushroom. That, along with lard and pork, was a perfect mix and the sweet and savory taste would occupy one’s mouth completely toward the end.
It was absolutely sumptuous!
Tong Jiaxin was having one wonton per bit and he enjoyed them so much that his eyes were two slits.
Tong Xuelu brought Tong Mianmian with her over to the Wei’s after dinner, bringing with them some of the leftover uncooked wontons.
