Chapter 336 - "What are you doing here, Rugui?" (3)
Old Mr. Wan visited the restaurant again today.
Perhaps because it was raining outside, there were very few patrons that day.
It was teeth-clatteringly cold outside and Old Mr. Wan couldn’t be happier sipping the hot soup one mouthful at a time.
After he was done eating, he suddenly let out a long, deep sigh.
He looked over where Tong Xuelu was sitting. Seeing that she wasn’t looking over, he sighed once again.
He sighed louder than a cow’s moo. There was no way for Tong Xuelu to not hear that.
After all these days, Tong Xuelu was already familiar with this old man. She walked over to him and asked, “What’s the matter, Sir?”
Old Mr. Wan sighed once again and shook his head. “My children and grandchildren are all unfilial. Woe is me!”
Tong Xuelu, “……”
Old Mr. Wan, “My son is an idiot as is my grandson. They leave me home all by myself and I have nobody to talk to!”
Tong Xuelu thought to herself that sounded about right. “What about your daughter-in-law? Is she an idiot too?”
Old Mr. Wan frowned. “She worse than even that! Oh, never mind about them. Let me tell you. My grandson recently got himself a girlfriend but he refused to bring her home for me to meet her when I asked!”
Tong Xuelu felt pity for the old man when she watched him shook his head.
His son, daughter-in-law, and grandson were all idiots. How unfortunately was that?
Tong Xuelu, “Perhaps you need to have a good, long talk with your grandson?”
Old Mr. Wan, “Don’t you think I have tried that already? My idiot grandson won’t even call me Grandpa any more. Comrade Tong, perhaps you can call me Grandpa and just let me experience that again?”
Suddenly, a low and gentle voice came from the direction of the front door. “Grandpa.”
Tong Xuelu looked up and saw Wen Rugui standing there by the door.
“What are you doing here, Rugui?”

Tong Xuelu paused a little after she had spoken.
Wait a minute, what did Wen Rugui just say?
Did he just call the old man Grandpa?
Tong Xuelu’s eyes widened. She looked from the old man in front of her to Wen Rugui.
As Old Mr. Wan was pretty high up there in age and had wrinkles and goatee on him, she had never associated him with Wen Rugui.
Now that the two of them were standing side by side, she noticed that they did somewhat resemble each other.
Could the old man in front of her be Wen Rugui’s grandfather and that Wen Rugui was the idiot grandson that the old man talked about all the time?
Tong Xuelu was stunned.
As was Old Mr. Wan.
What the heck is going on?
He was so closed getting Miss Young Grass to call him Grandpa. Must the little jerk Wen Rugui pick this very moment to return?
An idiot would always be an idiot!
The more Old Mr. Wan thought about it, the angrier he became. His goatee quivered from his anger.
Wen Rugui walked inside and called Old Mr. Wan Grandpa again before he said to Tong Xuelu, “Yes, I have the day off.”
It had been almost three weeks since he had last seen her.
It felt like someone had shoved a dried plum in his mouth. It was both sweet and sour at the same time.
His eyes lingered on her face and he was unable to look away from her.
Tong Xuelu’s focus was how he had addressed the old man. “He is your grandfather?”
Before Wen Rugui could even say anything, Old Mr. Wan nodded and said, “You couldn’t be more right, Comrade Tong. This is the idiot grandson of mine whom I had been telling you about!”
“AHAHAHAHAHA…….”
Tong Xuelu could no longer hold back her laughter.
Any normal person caught red-handed like this would feel embarrassed and have a guilty conscience.
Not only did Old Mr. Wan not feel embarrassed in the last, he could have sounded more comically righteous.

“Yes, this is my grandpa.” Wen Rugui sighed inwardly. “Just what are you doing over here, Grandpa?"
