“Who’s that girl walking next to Researcher Wen? I’ve heard that he has a girlfriend now. Could that be his girlfriend?”
“I have no idea. Do you see how tender Researcher Wen look? I’ve never seen that look on him all these years that I have been working with him.”
“You are right. Most likely that is his girlfriend then.”
Huang Qimin ran into Wen Rugui once again when he walked out of the office with his report in his hand.
He dropped the document that he had in his hands when he saw Tong Xuelu.
Huang Qimin reconnected himself, picked up his documents, and quickly walked up to them. “I was wondering why you were in such a rush. So you’ve sent to pick someone up. This one is……?”
Wen Rugui looked over at Tong Xuelu. “This is Tong Xuelu, my girlfriend.”
He then introduced Huang Qimin to Tong Xuelu. “This is my colleague, Huang.”
Huang Qimin blinked.
Why was it that he felt that Wen Rugui was so sloppy when it came to his introduction. Huang, he didn’t even get the “Comrade” label. Was that nice of him?
But this was not the time to be petty. He turned toward Tong Xuelu and said, “Hi, Comrade Tong. Rugui talks about you all the time. So glad to finally meet you.”
Tong Xuelu’s lips curled. “Hi, Comrade Huang. Rugui had never mentioned you to me before.”

Huang Qimin’s lips twitched a couple of times and he chuckled dryly. “Rugui had always been a quiet one. Oh right, are you here to celebrate Rugui’s birthday with you, Comrade Tong……”
He had yet to finish his sentence when he was interrupted by Wen Rugui. “Aren’t you very busy with your experiment lately? We shouldn’t keep you any longer then.”
Huang Qimin, “……” I don’t feel that you are keeping me.
Nevertheless, Wen Rugui had already brought Tong Xuelu toward his office.
“……”
Tong Xuelu looked around Wen Rugui’s office.
It wasn’t very big but it was very tidy.
“Let me get you some water.”
Having said that, he placed what he was carrying onto the table and pulled out a brand new ceramic mug from inside the cabinet.
Seeing that he had dashed outside, Tong Xuelu quickly pulled out the cake and the pork jerky from her bags.
Unfortunately, there were no whipping cream right now and she could only make a plain cake.
Wen Rugui ran into a lot of his colleagues on his way to wash out the mug.
All of them asked him the same exact question – “Is that your girlfriend?”
Anyone would be impatient having to reply to the same question so many times.
But that was not the case with Wen Rugui.
The entire base had found out that Wen Rugui’s girlfriend had come to visit him and that she was a very beautiful girl!

As beautiful as a fairy!
Those who didn’t believe it would look for all sorts of excuses to walk past Wen Rugui’s office.

Wen Rugui returned with the cup of water and handed it over to Tong Xuelu, “This is a new mug. It had never been used before.”
Tong Xuelu took the mug from him and she leaned into him all of a sudden. “What’s that scent on you? It smells quite nice.”
She sniffed as she spoke.
Wen Rugui’s body stiffened as though he had been anesthetized. He stook there motionlessly.
THROB! THROB! THROB!
He felt that he had, once again, lost control of his heartbeat.
Would he just drop dead one day if his heart continued to throb like this every day?
With someone walking past them from time to time, Tong Xuelu did not dare go too far. She merely sniffed and returned to where she was.
Wen Rugui finally felt that his soul had returned to his body a long while after Tong Xuelu had stood back straight. He said in a very serious tone, “I am not wearing any cologne.”
Tong Xuelu curved her lips and said, “I know. I’ve heard of a saying in the past. That only two people who were attracted to each other can detect the scent from the other person.”
That was a real thing but it was pheromone that they were talking about.
She had never detected any scent from any man in her past. Low and behold, she smelled it from Wen Rugui after she had transmigrated.
Wen Rugui’s ears grew redder. They were so read that blood could start to drip from them. His eyes were bright, however. “You smell like flowers.”
So that was what attraction was all about. No wonder she always smelled like flowers to him.
He couldn’t tell what kind of flower it was, but it smelled really good.
He had never smelled that on any one else before.
Tong Xuelu cocked her head and smiled at him. “Did you really smell it?”
Wen Rugui met her eyes and his heart pounded, “Really.”
Tong Xuelu handed him the food and the fountain pen from Jiang Danhung.
Wen Rugui looked at the food in front of him and felt a warm current in his heart. “Thank you. I like them a lot.”
People were still walking past Wen Rugui’s office from time to time. Tong Xuelu finally realized that coming here was a mistake. They were not able to do anything slightly crossed the line.
