After their meeting at the restaurant, Tong Xuelu brought Guo Weiping with her to shop for their ingredients as usual.
“Manager Tong, these are fresh walnuts that we just got in this morning. You mentioned it last time and I remembered.”
There was fresh walnut at the CSMS to Tong Xuelu’s surprise. The manager there presented them to Tong Xuelu as soon as he spotted her.
Tong Xuelu’s eyes lit up. “Thank you so much, Manager Zhen. Busy people don’t usually remember the small details. And look how you are more attentive than a young person. I am so envious of your ability!”
What perfect timing? She had wanted to make some dates and walnut treats for Wen Rugui.
It had almost been a month since the two had last seen each other. She kind of missed him.
Her words very much appeased Manager Zhen. “Manager Tong, I heard that Master Huang from the meat stand made it onto your Achievement Board?”
Tong Xuelu instantly got what Manager Zhen was trying to say. “That’s right. Master Huang, much like Manager Zhen, are the top dogs in your respective area. Of course pioneers like you must go onto our Achievement Board!”
Manager Zhen could no longer contain his smile. “Does that mean Manager Tong will interview me as well?”
Tong Xuelu nodded. “That goes without saying. Our Achievement Board will not be complete without someone such as yourself, Manager Zhen!”
Manager Zhen smiled so much that the crows feet at the corners of his eyes looked like flowers. “Manager Tong is truly outstanding for someone of her generation and a good model for all female comrades. Just let me know if you need anything in the future!”
The two exchanged a bunch of complements and Tong Xuelu promised that she would stop by the next day to conduct his interview before she left the CSMC with all of her purchases.
Guo Weiping was no longer a stranger to a scene like this.

They had just returned to the restaurant when Tong Xuelu saw the chauffeur from the Commerce Department had come to pick her up. She was wanted at the Commerce Department.
Tong Xuelu had an idea. Her entrance into the culinary competition is moving forward.
