Getting to the emotional part, Huang Xianglan couldn't help but cover up her face and cry.
Tong Xuelu tightened her fist and took a deep breath. “How’s Xiao Qiu now? Is she alright?”
Huang Xianglan wiped away her tears and said, “She lost two teeth. The doctor said it almost hurt her eyes and that could have led to blindness.”
That was the reason that Su Xiuying finally felt scared after the fact and made up her mind.
Luckily she did not remain a coward all the way to the end.
Tong Xuelu sighed to herself, “Will your cousin’s neighbors testify for her if your cousin goes to file a police report?”
“I doubt it.”
Huang Xianglan paused for a little and shook her head.
Tong Xuelu was not surprised by that answer at all.
People at this day and age would never encourage a couple to separate. The common belief was to take down 10 temples instead of ruining a marriage. The most common reaction was to tell the women to bear it.
What made matters even worse was that not only would her neighbors not testify if Su Xiuying was to report her husband and her mother-in-law; they would very well turn around and call her vicious and ungrateful.
“When was the last time that b*****d beat your cousin up? Does she still have any injury on her?”
Huang Xianglan thought about it some and said, “The wound on her forehead had healed but there should still be some bruising on her body.”
Tong Xuelu frowned a little when she heard that. “That might not be sufficient.”
It had been a few days already and the wounds had healed. Su Xiuying had been telling others that she fell on her own. Her heading over to the police station right now probably wouldn’t do much good.

Tong Xuelu hadn’t said anything yet when Huang Xianglan said with her eyes reddened, “My cousin thought about that as well. She said to have you come as a witness. She will provoke that b*****d then and have her husband and mother-in-law beat her up together.”
