On a dark night, Shangguan Zheng who was in deep sleep, suddenly felt a chill. He opened his eyes and found that the windows of his bedroom were open.
“Is it windy tonight?” He mumbled in annoyance, and then gave a nudge to his wife who was sleeping soundly beside him. She didn’t move so he had to get up to close the window.
Suddenly a sinister voice spoke from behind his back, startling Shangguan Zheng!
“Mayor Shangguan is finally awake, else I would have had to use the knife to wake you up.”
Shangguan Zheng turned around and found that a man sat on the chair in the bedroom. A tall man next to him was holding a knife. The two of them looked ominous, as if they were the Gods of Killers from Hell. They looked intimidating and scary!
Despite having a blurry sight, Shangguan Zheng was still able to recognize the man at one glance. He spoke into fright. “What are you doing here, Jing Yichen? What… do you want?”
“Don’t worry, I won’t kill you because of Ning. I am here to tell you that you aren’t fit for the Mayor’s chair of A City, just resign! Even Ji Minyun walked away from that position some time ago. Do you think your neck is firmer than hers? Or… you think that your supporter is stronger than me?” Jing Yichen sounded cold, just like an icy knife that poked at Shangguan Zheng’s weak point.
Shangguan Zheng collapsed to the ground upon hearing this.
He knew that Jing Yichen was tough to deal with. He had just become the Mayor and already this man was at his door!
Was the Mayor’s position which he had been dreaming of, going to be snatched away from him so quickly?
It was no different from killing him. He would rather die than lose his position as the Mayor!
“I will not resign. I am the Mayor and you can’t threaten me. I will never give up. You are definitely not going to dominate the entire A City, I will call the Police to catch you. How dare you break into the Mayor’s mansion!”
Shangguan Zheng shouted with a fierce face. But cold sweat had broken out in his palm.

With his handsome face hidden in the darkness, Jing Yichen sat on the chair like a king. Jing Yichen knew that Shangguan Zheng, who was so fascinated by the power would not give up the official position easily. He addressed Tiger, who till now had been fiddling with the shining blade, “Show the necessary things to him.”
Tiger brought out a small booklet from his pocket and tossed it towards Shangguan Zheng. He spoke with bared teeth. “You better obey my Master, or if anything written in the booklet is submitted to the Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection, it will not be my Master who comes here next time, but the people from The Bureau of Corruption Prevention! Shangguan Zheng picked up the little booklet with trembling fingers and skimmed through it under the light of his phone.
He got paler as he thumbed through the pages. His face had lost all its colour when he reached the last page.
How did Jing Yichen know about everything that he had done?
How could he get so much information, even the information which he himself had forgotten about?
Jing Yichen was indeed a scarily powerful man. He did dominate the entire A City.
Also, he knew that it was Jing Yiran who had helped him.
In the light of the phone screen, he looked like a ghost.
Jing Yichen showed no trace of sympathy. He said calmly, “I will give you three days to resign. If you don’t hand in the resignation letter, what you saw just now, will appear on the desk of the Provincial Commissioner for Discipline Inspection. You know pretty well what will happen at that time.”
He sounded cold and distant. To Shangguan Zheng, the words sounded like a death sentence!

After saying these words, Jing Yichen and Tiger walked out of the bedroom nonchalantly and went out of the open gate.
