Shangguan Ning gaze swung from the irritated Zhao Anan to an enthusiastic looking Mu Qing. She tugged at Jing Yichen’s sleeves indicating that they should leave.
Jing Yichen was pleased by Mu Qing’s behavior. It seemed that he had made the correct decision to text Mu Qing about Zhao Anan’s return. Zhao Anan, the scourge had not only kissed his woman but also wanted to sleep with her.
He couldn’t tolerate it.
He understood what his wife was trying to convey and left with her instantly.
He didn’t care if Mu Qing and Zhao Anan could be together or not. He only wanted his wife to be with him. That was enough. As for their relationship, it was not something within his purview.
Even with everyone gone, Zhao Anan still refused to talk with Mu Qing. Instead, she put on her sunglasses and started to walk away.
Mu Qing followed behind with her luggage. He felt happy to see her despite being ignored.
“Hey, Tomboy! Can’t you walk a bit slowly? Don’t you appreciate the fact that the most efficient and handsome doctor in the entire city is helping you with your luggage?”
Zhao Anan sneered and rolled her eyes. “No one asks you to get the luggage. You offered to help. You speak so highly of yourself. Why don’t you compare yourself to my cousin and see your worth then.”
“He is a demon, only one of his kind in this entire world. I am not comparing myself to him. And for your information, I am better than him at medicine. I even saved his life! Yours too! So you better treat me well.”
“You couldn’t cure my cancer and still claim to be excellent? I would have died two years ago if I had chosen you to be my doctor. Please, don’t brag in front of me until you are able to cure all diseases. Now, get out of here!”
Zhao Anan was the only one who could speak out about her disease so openly. Usually, people didn’t dare to mention “cancer” so casually.
Mu Qing wasn’t irritated upon hearing her words because it was true that he hadn’t managed to cure Zhao Anan.
But he wasn’t defeated. “Cancer is the most difficult medical issue in the entire world. No doctor in the world can guarantee a full recovery. I am a genius in the medical field, and I will definitely solve this issue in the next few decades.”
Zhao Anan clapped and said sarcastically, “Congratulations, Doctor Mu. You are going to get the Nobel Prize. Unfortunately, I may not be able to live that long. I will die next time the cancer returns. So, get out of here and stop talking bullshit.”
Mu Qing got furious all of a sudden. He tossed aside the luggage and pushed Zhao Anan against the wall, in public. He trapped her body with his so that she couldn’t run away.
“Enough, Zhao Anan! Stop talking about death. I hate it.”
Not being able to escape, Zhao Anan got so irritated that she bit hard on his shoulder. Within no time, blood drops formed on Mu Qing’s shoulders, dying his brand-new white shirt.
Mu Qing face was twisted with pain. He asked furiously, “Were you born in the year of the dog? I have bite marks from you all over my body. Stop biting me.”
“Get off me! We broke up ages ago, and you seem to have a new girlfriend every single day. I am sure you can cure everything, even STD!”
“Stop getting jealous! I have no girlfriends. They are just my patients. It is completely normal to see them naked. It makes no difference in my eyes. I have seen enough naked bodies, maybe as many as 10,000! I am a doctor.”
Zhao Anan still had the intense expression on her face. She looked cold and said, “Don’t think so highly of yourself. I am not bored enough to get jealous. Just stop badgering me, we will not get back together again. Let’s just go home and you better disappear right after that, if you don’t want a taste of my fist!”
Tiredness crept inside Mu Qing’s heart.
They couldn’t even talk properly. They had been behaving in the same way during the past few years whenever they met. He was either arguing with her or chasing her. Why couldn’t they just sit down and talk properly?
Zhao Anan kept hiding herself from him and refused to speak to him. They either fought or swore at each other in every meeting. There was one time when Mu Qing didn’t even want to meet her, because she had been too fierce.
But they couldn’t continue like this. The old man kept urging him to get married, especially after Jing Yichen’s marriage. Mu Wensheng had gotten even more anxious. He didn’t want to lose to Jing Tianyuan. He wanted a granddaughter-in-law and wanted a better one who could give birth to a great-grandson first!
Mu Qing closed his eyes and said, “I want you to give me a son!”
Zhao Anan almost choked on her own saliva. She looked at Mu Qing with wide eyes and said incredously, “Are you stupid? You know very well that I am infertile!”
“Who says so? When I say you can get pregnant, then you can! I am a doctor and I have the final say. Anyway, let’s just try to make it happen first!”
“Hehe, are you suffering from Alzheimer’s or amnesia? We already made it happen ten years ago. It is useless to attempt it now. Get out of here and stop wandering around me. I want other good looking men to come near me.”
Sigh! Yet another failure of communication.
Actually, Mu Qing had tried numerous times to give up on the relationship between him and Zhao Anan, but then he started running after it again. Each time he failed, he tended to stay silent for a while.
People could run out of passion, patience and confidence, especially someone like Mu Qing constantly faced other huge pressures. His heart had frozen after being turned down by Zhao Anan so many times.
He knew that Zhao Anan liked him, liked him a lot. She had been with him since she was a teenager and had remained true-hearted to him. He also knew that she kept turning him down for his sake – she couldn’t live long suffering from this disease.
Also, there was a huge family factor in his case. Mu Wensheng had said clearly that he couldn’t marry Zhao Anan, because they needed the lineage of Family Mu going.
Maybe it was really because of the occupation that Mu Qing had seen too many nude women to lose interest in them. Or maybe it was because he had strong feelings towards Zhao Anan since they were young.
But one thing was clear. If he had to spend the rest of his life with someone, then he would only want to do it with Zhao Anan.
