For one thing, he had bought 0.5% of the shares of Family Ji’s Enterprise at a good price. He had been trying to get as many shares as possible, slowly. Together with the shares which he inherited from his father, he now had a 23% stake in the company, becoming the biggest shareholder amongst everyone in Family Ji!
As a matter of fact, if he married Ji Lili, then his shares would grow by 12% and become 35% instead.
But he didn’t want that.
He would rather marry Lan Yu who was vicious and full of conspiracies. At least after Lan Yu married him, she wouldn’t disgust him. In this world where the weak were taken over by the strong, he regarded Lan Yu as someone important, but he would never give Ji Lili even a single glance, although she had 12% shares to her name.
He had tried so hard to control Family Ji’s Enterprise not because he wanted to get more money or power. Instead, he just wanted to take control of his own life.
Therefore, he would not marry a brainless and disgusting woman for small benefits like wealth and power.
The news reports about Family Jing had already created excellent results. The stock price of Jinsgheng had been dropping for three days in a row and many staff at Jingsheng were considering moving somewhere else. Ji Bo had already come to a preliminary agreement with these senior employees who could leave Jingsheng anytime and come to work for Family Ji’s Enterprise as soon as they made up their mind.
This must be the biggest blow that Jingsheng had received during the past few years.
Because the blow came from inside the company. With Jing Yiran as the mole, Jingsheng would collapse within a short period of time.
Ji Bo fiddled with the red wine goblet as the sunlight of the autumn days shone through the ceiling-to-floor window into the office and fell upon him. His tall and strong silhouette cast a small patch of shadow upon the carpet behind his back.
A firm knock arose at the door.
Ji Bo didn’t turn around. Instead, he said in a gentle voice, “Come in!”
The office door was opened as his secretary walked in wearing black high heels.
“President Ji, Deputy President Shi from Jingsheng is here. He is waiting for you in Meeting Room 1.”
She had a clear and warm voice. It sounded just the springtime that was gentle. She sounded so much like someone.
Someone whom he simply couldn’t forget.
Ji Bo didn’t turn around, because the moment he turned around, his joy of hearing the voice would be ruined.
“Okay, anything else?”
The secretary paused and then said again, “Your fiancée, Ms. Lan called just now and said that she is going to visit an old friend tonight, so she can’t go to the movies with you. She sends her apologies.”
Lan Yu had been showing off their closeness in this manner. It was just an excuse that she was going to visit an old friend.
She barely went out. Even if she did, she would go out in darkness, dressed like a quiet ghost who could kill someone in just one stroke.
She was a vicious woman but also a pathetic one.
Therefore, Ji Bo had no reaction to what the secretary said. He stayed immersed in that voice of hers, imagining that she was someone else.
The secretary reported a few things briefly and JI Bo said gently, “Alright, I see.” But he didn’t ask her to leave.
The secretary had been with Ji Bo for three years. She had no idea what feelings this gentle and capable Deputy President, had for her. He seemed to like her a great deal, because most of the time he would take her out for work. But at the same time, he seemed to dislike her a great deal, because he never spared her more than one look. He smiled kindly at her, but still possessed an authoritative stance. His smile was, as a matter of fact, full of hidden coldness.
But she knew that Ji Bo always listened to her carefully no matter what she said, as if what she said was very important.
Therefore, she asked boldly, “President Ji, Deputy President Shi has been waiting in the meeting room for more than forty five minutes. Are you going to receive him now?”
Sure enough, Ji Bo didn’t sound angry at all. Instead, he said smilingly, “Okay, get ready and let’s go and talk with Mr. Shi.”
The secretary nodded and walked away.
Two minutes later, Ji Bo took the secretary into the meeting room.
The middle aged man dressed in a suit, stood up at the sight of him and shook hands with Ji Bo with a bright smile. “President Ji, I am Shi Qingshan from Jingsheng Enterprise. Deputy President Shangguan is too busy with other things, so I will be responsible for the financial collaboration with Family Ji’s Enterprise. Please accept my greetings.”
Ji Bo had talked with Shi Qingshan before and understood that Shangguan Ning was relieved of the responsibility of the financial business. So he didn’t change his smiling expression and greeted Shi Qingshan politely.
They were both deputy presidents of their enterprises, so they hit the discussions straightaway.
Shi Qingshan brought out a document from his briefcase and gave it to Ji Bo smilingly. “President Ji, this is the new collaboration contract signed between Ji and Jingsheng. According to the contract, we will have a collaboration in overseas business.”
“But as you know Jingsheng is not so good at financial operation. So Ji will need to give us ten more financial business executives and open all the financial channels to Jingsheng. Our revenues will be divided as per the contract. I am here today to discuss this matter with you.”
Ji Bo got startled and then his heart fell into the bottom of the ravine. The smile on his face disappeared gradually as he said with slightly trembling fingers. “When did I sign the contract with Jingsheng?”
“Oh, did I not make myself clear, Deputy President Ji? You didn’t sign the contract, Ji Minjue, the President of Family Ji’s Enterprise did.”
Shi Qingshan purposefully stressed “Deputy President Ji.”
Ji Minjue was Ji Bo’s Uncle, Ji Minyu’s brother who used to be the Mayor. Ji Jiameng and Ji Ling were his son and he was the real decision maker of Family Ji’s Enterprise.
Ji Bo was just the Deputy President of Family Ji’s Enterprise.
Ji Bo got so annoyed that he almost tore apart the contract.
Ji Minjue had signed a contract with Jingsheng without telling him. He was kept in the dark!. If Jingsheng had not sent anyone here today, he would not have known what Ji Minyu had done to him.
But could a contract with Jingsheng be signed so easily? He had been working so hard for half a month now and spent endless efforts and energy upon contacts just to make sure the situation became advantageous for Family Ji.
But Jing Yichen had beaten him down with just one piece of paper!
No, he had not only been beaten down but was also going to lose all of the financial business which he had been accumulating for the past eight years.
Ji Bo would be completely destroyed if he lost the financial business!
